********* keyboard

The keyboard I use at home has a key by the name “power” just above Print Screen. I like capturing images a lot and some time ago I went taking shots and hit Power by mistake. The computer shut itself down and I lost my work -_- The annoying part is that sometimes I wanna take screenshots from the games I play to make wallpapers & such and I end up hitting Power instead of PS because they’re so close. Is there anyway to ‘turn off’ this ****ing key?

Get a fucking keyboard that doesn’t have a POWER switch on it.

Either that- or LOOK when you print screens- don’t go for feel if it is that close. A typo is one thing, but accidentally turning the power off is another.

Keyboards are virtually free, get a new one without a power switch.

Pop the key out and stick something over where it was so you can’t press it down.

I don’t get why they make keyboards with power on it…

Because there are still people who believe the screen is the pc, and that the box besides it is just to put their cds in. With the power switch on the keyboard they might just switch them off when they should.

Just take a screwdriver or something and take off the key, without the key there you are less likely to hit it, as the part that you push the key down onto is smaller then the key. Stupid thing about my keyboard is we have a www button and a mail button and a search button. The www button and the search button open the same page.

Let me guess, Microsoft Keyboard

My keyboard has a shopping key, sports, finance, search, chat, e-mail… Also lets me play my mp3’s, skip, shuffle, and pause. :stuck_out_tongue:

My keyboard also has a shopping, sports, finance, connect, search, chat and e-mail keys. I never use them, since they are above the main part of the keyboard I can ignore.

And seriously, just get rid off the actual key, then you won’t press it. It is that simple.

Yup

Ewwwwwww. HP here. I only use the music keys.

Logitech here, and I would use the music buttons 'cept they don’t work for Winamp3

Same here. I have no clue what one third of my buttons do actually.

Bah. I hate WinAmp 3. WinAmp Classic is better and the keys work.

Hai.

I would if I could. My comp ain’t more than a month old and has a 3 year warranty on it, but if I take the ****ing key out I’ll lose said warranty. Yeah, weird. It’s paper stuff, it came from the company in that contract stuff. If I break or modify anything intentionally, I lose the warranty, and the keyboard is included in their list of things I can’t mess up with. I may buy another one without a power key and use it instead and all, but I have to keep the one that came from them in perfect condition.

It’s things like this that’ve made me lose my faith in humanity.

I’ll just do like Nul said and get myself a better keyboard.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> It’s a frickin’ key. Unless you throw it in a furnace, you can just put it back on by pushing it back into it’s socket. It’ll be exactly like it was before, the only reason why you need a screwdriver is to get a good hold of it. Hell, you can pull off keys easily, it’s just that other keys get in the way a lot.

I know. But I once broke a couple of keys doing this in my old comp and now I’m afraid of doing it again.
