To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” And unlike Augustinus, he explained that some things are only to be explained with a sense of reason, and some only with faith, thus building a bridge between Aristotle and Augustinus (and not risking to have his head cut off since he lived in medieval times, don’t slaughter your sources). Therefore, what Xwing said stands. Aquinas wasn’t, however, entirely unspecific in his explanation about divine intervention. He gave theology the character of a science, but never declared it one or said it’s a condition for other sciences. But that’s a different story.
