I haven’t seen all of the GW series, so it didn’t make a lot of sense. But 1 thing that stood out was that it was so rushed at the end, trying to get everything done. In a non violent manner too. And it’s supposed to be the end of the whole series, right?
No wonder my friend called it Gundam: The Christmas Special.
Are you a fan of Dragonball? Because after watching DBZ for years, which drags on like a whore, Gundam seemed pretty rushed to me too. It’s not, though.
The thing about Gundam Wing is that the story is just so damn complex… if you miss a single episode, you’re lost. Fortunately for me, I managed to watch the whole series when it first aired on CN (censored though it was ;_;). Endless Waltz was okay for me, but I already thought the series had a good enough ending. To me, EW was just an excuse to bring Zechs back – as if anyone actually believed he was killed at the end of the series, come on now…
OMG WTF ARE YOU DOING!!! NECROPOSTING R TEH EV01357!!! gets thong lost in his ass crack
I loved Wing. It turned me on to the other Gundam and anime in general. I remember the night I first saw Wing, it was when they showed the unedited ones at midnight. I was flipping through the channel and was like “big robot cartoon, nice animation, AND ITS NOT DRAGONBALL Z!” Started watching and I couldn’t stop. I still havent’ seen the entire series though.
I liked Wing a lot. I used to have the late night version of the CN dub on tape, but I let a friend borrow it and haven’t seen it since. I’m starting to get addicted to Seed now. Ever notice how all of the non-UC gundams wind up being remakes of the One Year War?
All the non-uc Gundams (with the exception of G) rehash the One Year War. X doesn’t as much though, its more of a “What if” kind of thing but uses a different timeline to explore it.
Double X Gundam is awesome. On episode 25 or whichever it is when they change the opening sequence, I saw the Double X and was liek “OMG, its Satan Gundam”.
i used to really be into gundam. it was cool, i’ve been trying to collect anime dvds. i have one gundam dvd but cant find the endless waltz dvd. I never got to see the whole thing because my gramma made me do hw and shut it off in the middle…
In Gundam Wing you need to watch nearly every episode to be able to understand Waltz. Most episodes seem to have at least one important plot element that leads into another episode, so missing just a few can make the series confusing.
Watching the same five episodes of Gundam Wing thrice over and then seeing the movie doesn’t help much for the understanding. nope nope. I think that’s the most I’ve ever seen of any Gundam series.
I did like Wing at frist. But when i saw other great gundam series, and look back on it, Wing really isnt that great. The fight scenes in the tv show just arent that great
