Jerry Srpinger may run for Congress...

I’ve heard about it last night and thought this might be of interest.

Apparently he does make sense, according to my grandmother, and he has been in politics, having been a mayor. What do you all think?

And before you knock it think about Sonny Bono, Jesse Ventura, and Ronald Reagan.

Although admittedly they didn’t run smut talk shows, but Springer says that has little to do with his political career.

Cool! Meetings with the Congress will turn into screamfests, with chairs flying! Who said those government channels were boring?!

But seriously… I don’t know much about the guy, so I’ll have to wait to see what will come of it.

Jesse Ventura? Wasn’t his governement complete and utter shit.

This should prove to be interesting.

I heard Ventura wasn’t all that bad.

And Springer was the mayor Cleveland before he made his show I think.

As anyone who remembers Bob Dornan can attest, that’s pretty much what they were before.

Man, a trailer trash-level show host running for Congress? Then again, he might be better able to help run a country than control the chairs.

Well, other countries have elected PORN STARS to their Parliaments (Italy I think), so this is a bit better. And yes, I do think Springer was a mayor before a talk show host.

Moves to Italy

I think the fact he has a talk show will make or break him. Some will not respect him/his show and therfore not vote for him, and people who like his show will likely vote for him

Or they’ll just vote according to his views on the issues.

You really think everyone votes on the ISSUES? Especially when its a famous person? Its all about his show.

One of my old highschool teachers said that he used to go to highschool with Jerry Springer somewhere in Ohio I believe. He had a yearbook and everything and showed us his picture. He doesn’t look much different after 40 or so years, I’ll tell you that.

still gets a kick out of the time Jerry Springer made an appearance on Married with Children as the “Masculine Feminist”. Al Bundy and the rest of NO MA’AM got mad at him and tied him up and hung a sign around him that had an arrow pointing towards him saying “Ovulates”… it was pretty funny… especially when the cops come and arrest Al. “Aren’t you Jerry Springer?” “Keep him tied up, I hate that guy.”

Not everyone votes according to the issues, my dad is a republican, and almost everytime he votes he votes straight republican.

All I have to say is just don’t let Springer run for president.

He does have experience… and despite the stupidity of his talk show, he doesn’t seem like a stupid man (despite the motel room and two personal checks. <.<)

"Gerald N. Springer, a New York native, worked on Robert Kennedy’s presidential campaign, and led a movement to lower Ohio’s voting age to 19. As a law school student, he played guitar in bars in Mount Adams, got elected to City Council, and resigned following an indiscretion involving a motel room and two personal checks.

But voters forgave him. He got re-elected, became mayor, and went on to become an Emmy-winning news anchor known for his groundbreaking commentaries. He started the Springer show in 1991 in Cincinnati, later moving it to Chicago, where it became the raunchy spectacle it is today.

Asked whether voters could now take him seriously, Springer made no apologies for his show.

“It would be so hypocritical for me to say that show is terrible,” he said. “I’ve always said it’s stupid. It’s just camp. It’s chewing gum. It’s an hour of escapism. It has no real value.”"

As long as he keeps his talkshow away from the political arena it’s fine by me: Leave the physical fighting in the legislative branch to the Germans.
