.jar files help plz.

Not really gaming help, but close enough.

What program do I need to get .jar files to run? I was told I needed Java Runtime Enviroment but I can’t find a place to get it.

It’s an archive type file, WinRAR can open them.

Apparently not. The file I’m trying to use is a chat client for a certain site, like AIM et al. It’s not an archive.
