I’m bleeding out of my vagina (lol thread title stealing)

The Slip (Big Beat / Tropical / Rock)
If you enjoy long ass, damn near ambient songs that still have a verse/chorus structure, this is the band for you. Really well known in the area around Boston, particularly the indie scene. They also have a very jazz feel on their album “From the Gecko” with the inclusion of a trumpet and saxophone in a majority of the songs, as well as meandering jam-band structuring. Their newest album (“Eisenhower”) is the most “accessible” but I think one of their best albums. It follows the common verse/chorus structure while still staying experimental like all their previous albums.

Sounds like: A mixture between Oasis (If one of us should fall) and a teeny bit of any indie band you can think of (even rats). Some jazz fusion (weight of solomon)

Examples:
[Airplane/Primitive](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDJDnUMK5oo) love that riff (Off of Eisenhower, newest album)
[Even Rats](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po57Z4-GCQ8) Most popular song, was in the original Guitar Hero as a bonus track
[If One of Us Should Fall](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpwnPGIFw3s) Great 90s rock vibe

[Their myspace](http://www.myspace.com/theslipmusic) has a few songs to sample.

bonus band with no explanation:
