Like Teagan and Sara, Eisley combines real music (not provieded by others!) that is amazing live and recorded. The sweet voice and upbeat sound of many Eisley songs is great, plus they’re just cool.
Come on, GAP, do The YES. I’m a bit bored to find Yardbird songs.
Okay, screw that. The Yardbirds were a Brit blues to hard-rock band at that sweet point where things were happening (we’re talking 60s history here). Of course, they got stomped over like Amerigo Vespucci by Colombus by Led Zeppelin who went on to become superstars and sell t-shirts worldwide -Plant love!-. The Yardbirds are nowadays remembered for their guitarists (Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton) and by people who must know which riffs Page took with him to his new band, but history apart the music wasn’t half bad.
This Brechtian Punk Cabaret due comes out of Boston and had grown into a pretty popular band. The singer, Amanda Palmer, had a solo album just come out that was fucking amazing. They have a lot of different songs with different styles, and they are my favorite musical group overall.
Great experimental/alternative rock band from New York. They’ve been around for many moons. I’d say they’re a pretty big influence on modern indie music.
Candle (the video is kind of lame and in poor quality, but it’s a great song.)
One of the bands credited for being the pioneers of the melodic death metal genre (along with In Flames and At the Gates), they’re still actively touring and recording music. Anders Friden (the vocalist of In Flames) was DT’s original vocalist, and Mikael Stanne (DT’s vocalist) did session vocals when In Flames recorded their first studio album.
