Devil May Cry is much more fun than Chaos Legion? I laugh at your false statement. Although I have not played DMC3, I can safely say that CL is much more fun than DMC1&2.
Chaos Legion better than DMC2, I agree. Better than DMC1? Hell no. The environment, learning curve, weapons, and enemies were excellent in DMC1. Once again, Dante has so many moves, and the engine allows you to mix things up, so you can create your own combos. DMC3 plays like that, only there so much more ways to do it.
But hey, to each his own, eh?
Hey NB, have you ever unlocked Moritsune and Musashi?
Only Moritsune.
I fully agree with Nightblade on this one. While I haven’t played DMC3 yet, Chaos Legion was a better game fundamentally than DMC2, but DMC1 was just freakin sweet.
On the topic of Chaos Legion, I haven’t played it, but DMC2 sucked. The first one was cool, but a bit easy. Completed it in a 3 day rental.
And on the subject of repetetiveness, you could just as easily argue that any single video game is repetetive, whether it be a slash-em up, beat-em up, platformer, FPS, 3d platformer, Turn-based RPG, Real-time RPG, Strategy RPG, or any other type of game. Shit, PSO is repetetive as hell, but I’ve wasted 100+ hours of my life on it.
Hades makes a very good point. Repetetiveness isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Since I previously stated that any game could be viewed as repetetive, I’d like to touch up on some of the things that have been said. I used to have a roommate who absolutely despised turn based RPGS (and would eventually hate all video games for that matter) and his reasoning was because all turn based RPGs are the same(walk around a map , fight monsters, level up) . Sure they all took the idea from D&D, but some TBRPGS have very distinct stories, and that for me is what makes me like or not like an RPG. With most other games, it’s mechanics and gameplay. Graphics are not as high of a priority(I’m old school and still like old games) because I enjoy a game such as DMC(not 2, though) as much as I would Metroid, or even Pong.
Edit: Shinobi is the shit. Can’t fuck with the ninja master.
Technically most games are repetitive. I guess the problem comes when you realize how repetitive it is while you’re playing it. At that point, it becomes boring. Like, for me, I can’t play online RPGs. I tried. I got into PSO, and I even got pretty far in FFXI, but I can’t handle the pace of them. Ironic, since I love the DQ series so much, but I just can’t handle the pace and presentation of an online game. For me, that’s too repetitive. For some people, it’s fine.
Different strokes for different folks, I believe they say.
Still, those that didn’t like it were amazingly against it.

Is it multiplayer?
No. But there is a sequel coming out. Not sure when, but it will probably take place prior to Chaos Legion. More like a prequel.
