Is it possible to transfer one’s file from the ipod onto another computer? I haven’t been successful and I think this makes sense considering the way Itunes works with how stuff is sold online. Other than that, the Ipod rocks.
Two of my friends have Ipods, and they’re fucking awesome, if a little excessive. No matter how hard they try to convince me, I’ll never believe they’ll fill it to it’s capacity. It can fit an endless number of songs, to the point of absurdity.
Don’t ask Shalcar how much music he has. But you are right that its insane how much music you can fit on there. I have a fairly large collection and its halfway full. It measures how much music I have in DAYS (although from the look of it, it should be a little over a week).
But anyway, back to my point about file transfers.
I believe if you have itunes on both comps that you can transfer stuff cuz back in the day I had a rio and I transferred files between comps.
I do have itunes on both comps. How do I do it though? It doesn’t let me drag the files over or copy paste.
I currently have about 2 days’ worth. Stupid hard drive space limit.
>_< I know there is a program that emulates the iPod as a “USB Mass Storage Device” so you can use it like a removable disk, and access it’s files in windows explorer.
Unfortunatly, i didn’t bookmark the site (i was reading about it off of gizmodo, may want to check there), and don’t remember the name. Sorry dude =\ but are you sure iTunes doesn’t support just dragging files from the iPod while in the iTunes software? (i don’t have iTunes so i have no clue how it works >_>)
I tried it, Dev.
*tail between legs
I think that says more about the IPod’s storage space than anything else.
Well you could try going into your control panel under the “printers and other hardware” heading and it might be in there and it might let you go into it and drag the songs to a folder, like your itunes music folder…this is pure speculation.
I filled my 20gb ipod…
Anyway, Itunes works kinda weird. You have to specially set up Itunes in order to delete songs (which takes quite a bit of work). It’s pretty strange. I bet you can do that with the ipod, I just don’t know how.
Music can only be moved around with iTunes. Everything else can be moved around the same way you would with any mass storage device.
