Apple knew about this. That’s the entire success of the Ipod, and they knew it. They only pretended to want to charge people for music.

They neverthelss have sold a large number of tracks so the system they set up has not only paid for itself but still gave them a certain profit. The point remains nevertheless.

That article says they don’t have proof if they’re either ineffictive or effective. So uh, okay.

I’ve said it before, iTunes doesn’t succeed by turning a profit…it succeeds by implanting the idea of a “legal” versus “illegal” download in people’s mind.
