Yea, Ann Coulter is so funny to watch. I saw the episode of her on Real Time with Bill Mahr. Fucking owned up the asshole - they made her visiblly upset on the show. It was great
If people think Arnold will just be able to magically manufacture the money that Davis didnât have, theyâve got another think coming. The only thing he can do is the exact same thing Davis has been doing.
I like Larry Flyntâs idea of allowing state taxed slot machines. I think he said that he would tax the slot machines something like 30%. California being the liberal place that it is, that idea would probably float over with the people pretty well.

re thinking of Ann Coulter. I would PAY to see her argue also because of how utterly idiotic and easy to destroy she is. SHE JUSTIFIES MCCARTHYISM! ON TV!
Heh.
Huffington would DESTROY her in open debate. Wouldnât even be a fair contest, really. Itâd be like a bullfight, or a footrace between an olympic sprinter and somebody without legs. Or, fittingly enough, a debate between a college graduate and a person with no brain.
She [Huffington] will probably end up getting my vote in this thing.
Sorc: Not necessarily. The pro Indian gaming lobby has been becoming pretty potent recently, and would probably have the muscle to frame such an egregious tax as being discriminatory or unfairly targeted at their business. While we Californians in general have little qualms about âsticking it to the manâ when it comes to taxes on big business or lawsuits against big business, with big tobacco being a widely popular whipping boy, [well, at least we are around here, but remember Iâm in spitting distance of SFO and Berzerkley, so my perspective and surveys are perhaps a bit skewed], the Indian Gaming Casinos would likely be seen as âthe little guyâ and a âminorityâ and I doubt a tax as high as 30% would make it onto the books. Some tax would probably make it, but not nearly that high.
Bill Maher said something like this:
the economic boost died with the dot com crash at Gray Davisrequest. We were then involved in 2 wars, playing right into the hands of Gray Davis. And let
s not forget that the state was defrauded for millions by Dick Cheneys friends in the energy industry and Enron, and who
s to blame? Gray Davis. The solution? A Viennese weight lifter.
I think iâm going to do what my dad suggested, vote republican, let them take all the blame then get their asses kicked in 04. There isnât really anything they can do that Davis hasnât. If I was going to vote dem, I would probably go Hffington.
Meh, I personally think itâs a good idea - and it would rake in the cash pretty well if it passed. Slot Machines are pretty popular as far as casino-esque type things go.
A few other notes.
Actors getting into politics are not anything new.
Jesse Ventura; Ronald Reagan.
Is my point received? Thatâs what I thought.

The thing with Reagan was that he had been going around for YEARS before he ran for governor, giving political speeches on issues, supporting campaigns, etc. Only experience Iâve heard of that Ah-nold has is that referendum he got on the last ballot in California.
As for Ventura, I have no idea what experience he had. Well, I guess he could kick any other governorâs asses in the ring. Thatâs always a plus.

Careful, or me and my commie headbangers will find you. -__-
I think Arnie might make a decent govenor. He canât do any worse than what Grey did from what Iâve read.
I donât think that Gray Davis did a good job as governor. He did some stuff that he thought was good, but it wasnât.
Pierson, as someone living in Australia, I`d like you to enumerate what it is that the governor of CA did wrong.
Gemini, a lot of people dont agree with Bush , esp with how he fubared foreign policy and attacked another country pre-emptively and willingly lied to the public, but there
s not a movement where people are trying to get him impeached.
Gary coleman is in the race? Fugging surreal.
People donât care about whether or not Gray Davis screwed up the budget - people just donât like Gray Davis. Heâs evil and boring. Schwarzeneggerâs probably going to win.
Schwarzenegger has the popularity, and some knowlege of politics.
Arnold came to my university and the most he said about solving issues was we
re going to say asta la vista to the problems. If there
s any form of debate whatsoever, he won`t win.
Like Bush and Reagan before him, he will surround himself with highly competent advisors who will tell him what to say, and what to do. By this point in our electional history, we should know the American people vote more based on charisma and image rather than anything else. Understanding the issues is important for any candidate, but an understanding of the issues can be memorized and faked, or quickly learned.
Also, people can just lie and SAY they will lower taxes and the like, just to get the popularity, and votes. Then, when the people find out that theâve lied, then, their popularity falls like a 100 ton weight. Governors have done that in the past.
