if you are in college

what type of mnath are you taking?

You have to take maths in college? That’s just unfair. O_o

calculus, linear algebra and differential equations and such…that’s only the basics

I’m not. I got a 5 on my AP Calculus exam.

Intermediate Algebra, because I wasted my high school years.

college… college as in university or college as in college…?

Let me guess, you call secondary school “college” and then you go to “university” afterward? What crazy country do you live in, anyway?

I’m sure he means “university”, but even if he doesn’t, that’s how everybody’s responding.

Anyway, I’m a math education major, so I’ve had to take a LOT of math classes, although over the past couple of years, my math classes have been geared toward teaching math rather than pure math. But I took my share of calculus, differential equations, matrix theory and all that back in my first couple years of college.

Right now I’m taking Methods of Teaching High School Math and Mathematics Modelling for teachers (my capstone course).

I finished all required math with my BC Calc exam, but I’m probably going to take Statistics next semester as that class is recommended for Polisci majors.

I’m taking Calc 2 this semester (my high school didn’t offer BC last year) and then some form of stat for CSC majors next semester. And then there’s the 2 calc based physics classes that they said not to take a math simultaneously with.

yea… it’s a crazy country i tell ya. people either go to college after they graduate from highschool, or they go to university. and some, as you say, go to university after they graduate from college.

It sounds like Fenril is making the distinction of college being solely an undergraduate degree institution while university is an institution which one can attend to received an undergraduate and/or post-undergraduate degree.

Math 104 second semester calc, and I hate it.
Why?

I’m in calculus, because although my high school offered an ap calc course, our teacher broke his foot and we didn’t get all the information we were supposed to.
So I’m just a good distance ahead of my class right now.

I had to take College Algebra because I didn’t score hight enough on the entrance exam and then I took Business Calculus the semester after. I must say that all I learned though is pretty much forgotten though.

Calculus, Algebra, and Statistics and Data Management.

None.

anyone take Chaos & Fracturals?

it must suck that youy have to take math in college(if you do have to)
because I would not be able to pass any math(I had resource math from 5th grade all the way to end of high school, yeah I’m stuipedbut not thickheaded like all the rest of you :mwahaha: :mwahaha: :mwahaha: :mwahaha: :mwahaha:

I had calculus and stats as a bio major, although general chemistry and physics were obviously math intensive, but not necessarily as hard core as calculus. I liked my classes in general, but I had good profs.
