I used to be such a Square whore....

I once downloaded 30 gigs of music that I didn’t even know just to fill an MP3 Player.

Given this thread has been recently brought back up, there is no harm in contributing to it some more.

As they say, a picture says it all.

I got back a couple of oldies I missed a lot. This time I ain’t letting go of any of these.

So in a sense, yes, I’m still a Square whore given 3 albums out of 10 are from Square :stuck_out_tongue: Konami has two representations with the two Castlevania albums, Sega has representation with Border Down given it was deemed a Dreamcast release. Masaya gets the dubious representation with the original Cho Aniki, don’t let the stories of the game being really messed up fool you, the soundtrack is truly a work of art. Capcom gets Mega Man 1-6, which is what a lot of people would associate with Capcom first and foremost. Falcom gets the expected Ys I & II nod while Sir-Tech has Wizardry up its sleeve. As for the Square choices, FF6 is an obvious pick given it’s generally looked upon as Uematsu’s best during his carreer thus far, Bahamut Lagoon showcases the criminally underrated Noriko Matsueda working off her jazzy sound while Driving Emotion Type-S/Bushido Blade is a pleasant mix of fusion and oriental style music cooked up by Shinji Hosoe and friends.

I’d say that its debatable as to whether FFVI had the best overall soundtrack versus FFIX but they’re both up there.

I got a friend just like you that loves music form games and movies, and plays them during certain times to create atmosphere! I have to admit it is kind of cool (in a way) …but I’m no big fan though.
