I should probably feel bad about feeling this way...

I was outside and I saw two of my friends holding hands- they had recently gotten together, but I haven’t seen them as such. They walked by, we had a small amount of banter, and then I got REALLY angry- for a reason that I really couldn’t understand. And then I realized it was BECAUSE they were a couple- and for some unexplicable reason, happy couples piss me off, slightly.

Okay, not unexplicably… probably because I’m unhappily single. :stuck_out_tongue:

But… whatever the reason, I feel kinda guilty, because I respect one of them and I consider the other one a really close friend- but he pissed me off. I don’t know why I’m sharing this, other than to vent.

Maybe some other people feel similarly?

Or maybe you’re all going to point out what a moron I am. Who knows? -_-

I’ve had similar feelings before, but they stemmed from jealousy more than anything else. I wanted what it looked like they had.

I just wanted to say I understood… I think I do, anyway.

Yes, that’s jealousy alright. To prevent it from becoming more than an occasional smart, find and engage in a productive pursuit.

I guess I have the stereotyped guy syndrome when it comes to relationships. I’m just scared of the commitment. I just look at my sister’s boyfried who is the same age as me and wonder how he put’s up with my sister.

Stop whining. I’ve got friends hooking up left right and center and it doesn’t bother me and I haven’t had a girlfriend in almost a year.

I know how that goes. But, I haven’t had a gf in a little over 3 years, and I’ve got a few friends doing that. One I lov- er, “respect”, and one who I consider a friend/acquantince. In my case it might be jealousy, or something of another (dunno if jealousy counts as “respecting” her when you see her for the first time). Anyway, Roun, try not to let it get to you. If the situation doesn’t fit you, fit the situation. Work your way around it. Don’t let it get to you, it can hurt in the long run…

…ok Cro…that would mean you had a girlfriend when you were 11…and when you have one then it’s not a real girlfriend. 'Cause like…neither party is mature enough to be in a relationship, it’s icky and it’s more then likely not even remotely serious :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea, you’ll get over it in due time.

Life is too short to worry about little things like that. It’ll happen to you eventually. In the meantime enjoy what you do have and just plan have fun.

Nah, that’s not unusual…I usually ignore happy couples and/or public displays of affection. Lovey-dovey crap makes me wanna gag. =P

theres this one couple at school who like… are all over eachother in the halls and at lunch… its nausiating just looking at it. of course, they sit at the same table of the two boys i am stalking currently… -_-;;

I really don’t care one way or another about PDAs, oddly enough, as long as it isn’t loud or nasty.

im really not too into pda as most of the time i see it is it really really ugly people or people not really in love but just getting quasi-play in the open -_-;;

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Amen to that.

It is envy, because they seem to have found something that you haven’t found.
I say be happy for them, and ask them to not get totally lovey-dovey in front of you if you really can’t take it.

Just try not to think about it. That what I always find helps when my friends sort of shove there relationships in my face.

So just try to keep up appearances when you are around them, and show them that it does not really bother you, even if it is eating at you from the inside.

I can sorta understand

I have a long distance relationship, and as such, i get to See my GF once a year. It angers me, it annoys me, it…saddens me, whenver i see another happy couple sometimes.

But meh, its all good. Life goes on, there isnt much i can do.

Yup.That makes sense.I can so back that up.Except I don’t have a gf, obviously.What gets me, is when at school, I see two lovebirds getting all teary eyed and clinging to each other because they have to break apart…and duhn duhn DUHN and go to a frigging hour and twenty minute class.Oh the horror!I have to fight to see my boyfriend until the time is right…and all they’re worried about is not seeing each other till next class.Oh that’s hardship and pain, lemme tell you.I’d kill to be as stupid looking as that, with my bf…

Yeah, the whole “Omg, 1 min without you, ill die” thing really makes me want to throw a brick into their faces…But only that kinda couple…The other types ussually just make me sad

Don’t worry about that. They aren’t the types to show affection in public. At least… not more than hand-holding. Although I did see one of them french kiss a woman before… but she kinda forced it on him, and he didn’t like it. But thats another story. ^^;;
