I guess they decided that they would sell more copies if you could TELL that it was Christian Bale in the movie. That makes me angry.
Still a step above most. A lot of the time, when a new movie comes out that makes a good actor a household name, they’ll re-release all of their old movies, and put their name on the cover really big.

You know what would make me rebuy movies? Say, for example, if I already had a copy of American Psycho, and that re-release came out. But, instead of the cover you see there, in giant block letters it said:

I have more of a problem with studios going back and putting out DVDs of EVERY FUCKING MOVIE DAVE CHAPELLE WAS EVER IN. Regardless of how big his role was, and then changing the cover to just be “DAVE CHAPELLE IN: [whatever movie]”.
But then how would we know if it was real Christian Bale, and not some cheap imitation Christian Bale?
Forget this. I’d rather just go see Batman Begins again. Not some movie with a white guy killing white girls. I bet he doesn’t kill any sistas, they’d pop the fool.

I don’t have a problem with people taking advantage of a new movie’s publicity to sell their old ones. They’ve always done that, and it’s fair. We live in a capitalist society, remember? Of course, there is such a thing as misleading advertisement, and if a movie is being sold because it supposedly features a certain actor or actress -and it turns out she’s barely even in the movie- then that’s certainly unfair. BTW, I haven’t seen American Psycho yet (and I have no intention to, I hate movies featuring serial killers) so can anyone tell me if Bale does have enough of a presence in it to warrant putting him in the cover? (I heard it was his acting in this movie that won him the Batman role.)
He was very good in Equilibrium…very detached and unemotional…as the role required.
