I’m doing a test called an “MCI” and it is called “Math for Marines”. The review questions are EXACTLY the same as the test questions. Not only that, but it is easy math (divide these numbers, add these fractions, etc). I mean, my God, even the answers aren’t mixed up a bit. I can’t do it anymore because I fee I’m becoming dumber each question. I think that they underestimate Marines’ intelligence or they have low expectations which is a bit insulting. Ah well, at least it goes towards a promotion.
Oh right, your a marine. I forgot.
So it’s really THAT easy?

Hardest question from looking through the whole test:
#159/160: The inspection area of the Marines formed in is 66 feet long, which is 6 feet longer than twice its width. What is the width of the inspection area?
a. 32 in
b. 30 in
c. 32 ft
d. 30 ft
Gee, now that’s hard.:fungah:

Hell, I’m only in 8th grade and I know that.
The wording is more confusing than the problem. And the least they could have done is used FEET on all the answers like they were actually trying.
XD
This was good for a laugh because i just finished my math midterm. And GOD, that was hard.
Ouch. I feel sorry for you, man …
ouch…
Frameskip, they do that on many questions I’ve seen. It’s just to make sure you are actually paying attention, and are not just putting the answers that look right.
And your right the wording of the question can be the trickiest part of maths. Come on it’s meant to be maths, NOT english.
cries
Why can’t my stats homework be that easy?
Silly mortals, you think it’s really there to test his math.
Look at the question. Look at its simplicity. The only way somebody gets it wrong is if they’re blowing through the test, not taking it seriously, and not reading the instructions…
And THAT’s what it’s really testing. Not math skills, but how well you follow instructions/orders.
And to make sure that just because an operation appears to be “easy” you don’t lose discipline and get sloppy and make careless mistakes.

You’re partly right. There are a couple (maybe 5 at most) that aren’t in the Review questions or have a different order for the answers. However, I wouldn’t say that ti is any different from any other test in the directiosn following part and not blowing through it. I finished it about an hour and a half ago (I’ve been playing games in that time since then). It was a joke. However, the MCI is ACE certified so I think I can get college credit (I’ve already taken calculus so I don’t need it though).
Doesn’t it feel great to be stereotyped?
hmm…Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone failed that test. I’ve known some pretty stupid people in my math classes.

Once someone in mine got 2 + 0 wrong.
