How good some Spyware programs are.

I happened to get this site in an email, and I found it quite informative. It tells you how certain spyware removers paired up with others. Surf around the site it also tells you some of the so called spyware removers that install spyware and adware on you computer.

Mm, most interesting. I think it’s about time I did a spyware check. The sad thing is that I never had any pop-ups until I randomly decided to use a spyware program that came with the program. From then on I started getting pop-ups. -_-; Fucking useless

Ad-Aware and Spybot Search&Destroy seem sufficient to my needs … though unfortunately not those of my dad, for some reason. He’s deluged.

Ad-Aware and Spybot are sufficient enough for the average user.

ya there sufficient enough but I work on other peoples computers that live close to me so i have the Giant AS too, it catches quite a bit of stuff that ad-aware and spybot dont catch.

>_< if you just use common sense, and watch what you download, its pretty damn hard to get spyware. Jeez.

That’s not really true. Some websites imbed spyware and adware into the code of the website, so that when you say, download an image while the site is loading you also download spyware.

Giant didn’t do anything more than the others to my laptop, but I will keep using Firefox, if only because it loads PDFs which IE could not (if anyone remembers my problem with IE and PDFs, I made a thread on the topic). I like how it lists what’s good and why (the site that was posted).

Heh. And looking over the bad ones, the maker of “Privacy Tools 2004” (which isn’t apparently very good) threatened to design his own spyware and release it.

Riiiight.
