Here is the final proof...

I agree. We need more samurai in games. Samurai > Ninja.

Hell yeah, all I found so far is Brave Fencer Musashi.

It looketh pretty awesome. Not perfect, but considering that this is flash animatino … I’m just surprised he never tried to put in Bullet Time.

Musashi Miyamoto won a lot because of tricks he did, like going to the battlefield dressed as a beggar or something. That’s why in ToB his ultimate is like, 5 images of him, and only one is the real one, and he has that invisibility spell, it’s all trickery! He was also really really ugly. I’m not saying he wasn’t as good as people thought, but in his biography he focused a lot on the good, not the bad, which is understandable. I’m not saying he sucked or something, he defeated katana-wielding opponents with a bamboo sword. >.>; He also rocked at dual-wielding :smiley: Anyways, Samurai are still way cooler than Ninja could ever be. Please correct any information I might have wrong on Musashi, I’m doing a report on Samurai for English and he’s in it >.>;

Kensai perhaps, but Musashi could have easily gotten pwned if backattacked. Hell, his style is based on keeping opponents at the front. Ninja sneaks behind him, beheads him before Musashi can actually do anything.

I suggest reading the Book of the Five Rings if you haven’t already done so if you’re going to talk about Musashi.

I could have sworn Musashi was more about, man with weapon comes at him. Man with weapon loses. Or taking the initiative. One or the other.

Musashi was a real person so it’s obvious that he wasn’t invincible but anybody who managed to die at such an advanced age during the Sengoku Era either had an army guarding him at all times or was an awesome fighter.

And he wasn’t “good” at dual wielding, he CREATED the style.

“The Way of The Warrior means striking down your oponent, nothing more.”
-Musashi Miyamoto. The Book of Five Rings

Sun Tzu would have slit his wrists if he had lived to see that >_>

I suppose you mean lopsided in favor of the Ninja, correct?

The only things I like about a samurai over a ninja is usually their katana swords and of course the honorable code of bushido. Honor over everything is an admirable way to live as a warrior. Mayhap our military could use some teachings of Medieval chivalry and Japanese bushido.

And some of the high-ups could learn a little about Seppuku.

Why would they need to kill themselves? <.<;

“When a Samurai loses his honor, he must also loose his head. This is Bushido, the Way of the Warrior”

It means that if you fuck up big time, you gotta disembowel yourself. You know what I’m talking about.

Ah, well, it can’t be too good. Apparently even today people do it, and for things as small as bombing a test. o.O; Their suicide rate is like, 17/100000, the US is like 7 or so, but their murder rate is only 1 per hundred thousand. I can’t remember ours. I’m pretty sure it’s over ten.

It’s a little bit different from usual suicide, you don’t kill yourself because you can’t go on. For Samurai, Honor was more important than Life, if they disgraced themselves by running from a battle (Even if it was the correct strategical choice) or by disregarding an order from their masters they had to kill themselves.

It’s some kind of ritual actually. The future corpse usually dresses with a white yukata and stabs himself in the stomach with a Kodachi, then another Samurai cuts his head with a Katana to make the death instantaneous.

They dont stab themselves in the stomach, they make like a diagonal cut. There’s a different version for females, they stab themself, but it’s in the heart. There were shorter versions if they had to do it quickly though.

Disemboweling involves the removing of the intestines while the victim is still alive, you mean behead.

It was just a figure of speech. It doesn’t matter, you end up dead anyway.

Now you’re getting political…but you’re thinking and I like that.

Yeah, I totally like a guy who thinks.
