Help with names in my rpg...

Nope no space travel…i guess you could say its cyberpunk, each of those names are names for a band of robots (they arent called robots, just dun wanna give away the kewl name)…and well im gonna be goin to london for a week in a couple of hours so…PEACE OUT!!!

If they are robots, then it is probably not cyberpunk.

OMG U DBBL POST3D! RAWR RAWR RAWR!

But seriously, devillion is a good name. Very very good name.

>_>

<_<

Mobius is more like a planet’s name then a persons name. I suggest that you just think of objects such as a food dish, type of weather or a weapon and find out what they are in other languages and choose them. Thats the easiest way to find interesting names.

Lets see what happens when I flip youur names!

-Zombie_Ori
-Devillion
-Lunaris
-Karlemagne
-Ren
-Cybercompost
-Kor
-Steve
-Evangelion
-Gizamaluke
-seed007

Become

-Iro Eibmoz or Eibmoz Iro (Zombie Ori)
-Noillived (Devillion)
-Siranul (Lunaris)
-Engamelrak (Karlemagne)
-Ner (Ren) (Sounds like something from Invader Zim)
-Tsopmocrebyc (Cybercompost)
-Rok (Kor)
-Evets (Steve)
-Noilegnave (Evangelion)
-Ekulamazig (Gizamaluke)
-700dees (seed007)

Any of them work?

Noillived

WOAH! Thats awesome!

Rok…that’s some kind of a bird demon…Chinese mythology perhaps? I can’t remember.

A roc? That would be Arabic, though.

Roc is Mid-Eastern(Arabic or Persian or both).
It’s from the myths of Sinbad the Sailor.

For making your futuristic names, I would suggest doing what Square and other rpg developers do, which is to use real life names that are obscure. You’ll need a baby-naming book, but I figure everyone’s parents bought one of those at some point. Using Lunaris’ technique is good for a few names, but if you use it for all the names all the names will end up sounding similar, and a lot of them won’t sound that nice.

Yes! I had the spelling mixed up then. But I have read in various demonology books that the [Roc] was somehow linked to a Chinese aspect of mythology…oh well.

Too much Lufia 2.

Roc, Rok… the same, they are both misspellings of rock :stuck_out_tongue:

The Roc was a bird in middle eastern mythology that was so large it could eat elphants, which it carried off in massive talons. ( – and more information thanks to Athell – ) what is interesting is that apparently the Roc was a VERY bad omen for some, because if it flew over a certain nation or empire or kingdom, it was an omen that the kingdom would collapse, a revolution would occur to overthrow the monarchy, or war would happen…and apparently, the Roc’s longevity was based on consuming human flesh from battlefields.

And it’s also got an egg made of pure gold, which is holy and appears in Aladdin. When Djafar dies and his pissed brother appears he makes Badrelbudur want the egg and then the ghost of the ring gets pissed and blahblahblah.
Speaking og eggs: Giza. That does NOT look like a rock. o_o
