Hating humanity

I have lost faith in humanity, but not because its all bad. Yes there are those who do good, and sometimes good things happen. But come on. The number of good humans is far outweighed by the number of bad.

For example, as im typing this there is a music video on in the other room by sn00p d0gg, with lyrics-
“I keep em’ on they knees, take a look under my sleeve
I ain’t gotta give em’ much, they happy with Mickey D’s, PIMP”

Oh society, where have you gone…/me facepalm

So what if the umber of goods outweigh the bad. It only takes one simple act of good to blast the all the evil ones right out of the water, and you know it.

Humanity is doomed if there is no hope.

That’s a load of bull. People who are faithful suceed in life just as much as those who aren’t. It’s a way of protecting yourself and not setting your expectations up too high. Will hope move people off the streets? Will hope stop war? No. one liners like that caused this whole thread in the first place.

Uh
There is always hope in some form in people. Doesn’t matter what the hope is for, there’s always hope. For good or bad things, There. Is. Hope.
So alyx is partially right there.

Some people believe hope is a wasted and pointless emotion and refuse to give in to it. Though I never said people had_no_hope_at_all I said exactly that some people refuse to rely on hope. Hope isn’t good for anything until you take action. Hope wont save humanity, humans and their decision to change will.

That doesn’t mean they still don’t have hope. Someone could say they are never happy, sad, etc. but that doesn’t mean they never ever feel that way.

I didn’t say that was possible. What I said was that some people are more faithful than others and choose to rely on hope rather than logical thinking.

EDIT: Not that hope isn’t logical (it’s human nature, quite obviously) just sometimes it makes people idle.

Oooh…I like that. I have to say though. All of the “look at this, here is proof that humanity is bad and doomed” replies and threads. It is just annoying. However, if you look through our history, humanity has become much better overall. So all hope isn’t lost. Yes I said hope. Without hope what do we have to live for? Hope greats goals and ambitions and the drive to accomplish them. Without hope you might as well die since you are just moving from one day to the next without really living it.

You know what makes me mad? Whenever someone postes a story about a crime or tragedy or whatever, and every is all “Oh, humanity is doomed, etc.” What about all of the good things? Miracles, that kind of thing? Humanity is far from doomed, so why act like every single thing is going to destroy the universe?

Because it’s an inevibility…if we don’t destroy ourselves first, something else during the course of time will. Nothing last forever. =P

Hating and saying that humanity is doomed and about to destroy itself is overrated and overdone if you want to look broody, angsty, evil, mean or whatever goin’ on.

Instead, hate dogs. Or cats. Or monkeys. Or shrimps.

…Damn thoses Shrimps!

How many people actually give a damn ? If only it were so simple as to place things into good and evil. Humanity will only doom it’sself. My pappy always used to tell me to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Now, i believe it will take a huge global catastrophy to completely doom humanity. I don’t even think nuclear holocaust could wipe out every human all over the world. Human’s are survivors, we can survive in just about any climate. That’s what makes us the dominating species is our ability to adapt to change. So, what Society’s doom arrives, what will you do ? will you become a cannibal feeding off the scraps of your charred best friend ? Will you feed off the corpse of the old way of life, or will you find a new way to survive in a broken world ? When the world is thrown into anarchy, the weak will be some of the first to go. Me and a lot of my “friends” have a word for it. SHTF, when the Shit Hits the Fan days. There are many books written about it, some are too far fetched, and some are fairly believeable. But, this is a golden age for humanity, when it ends, will you be left without a chair when the music stops playin ? would you have the courage to defend the weak ? To keep the cannibals away from what is important ? It’s easy to say “yeah” now, but only time can tell when those days arrive.

Ah I just thought of something today. We are all fortunate bastards to be sitting on the sidelines just commenting on these events and not actually living through them. I think we take that for granted.

Instead of having a thread shoot out let’s have a group hug::dekar!::

Holy shit, a thread with philosophic elements oO And not all of them are crappy. I’m impressed.
First of all, we aren’t doomed. We have the Dekar sprite, and I don’t care about anything else.
::dekar!:: I will protect you, although I’m paranoid!!!CAIK!!!
We love you too, Dekar. <3
Secondly, we don’t have to worry about anything at all. The sun explodes in about 6 billion years anyway, so the problem will solve itself. Then again, we won’t live then anyway (unless you believe in reinkarnation and have the damn luck to be reborn exactely then, d’oh!).
I don’t hate humanity. The earth is so very old, and in comparison to that the “modern” human race (wherever you want to begin with those) has been around for such a short time. 65 million years ago was the time of the dinosaurs, humans as we are now have been around for barely a few thousand. Let them learn and develop. And if they don’t, they will destroy themselves. So what? Life, or at least time, will move on. If they accidently blow up the earth, maybe they’ve found a solution to live on one of the other kazillion planets in this universe, if they don’t, their loss.
