Because, its the word of god.
I think the train of thought Dawkins is trying to create is masturbatory self-promotion and very little else. He’s basically a one-man, douchier atheist analogy to PETA. He may be a competant biologist (although it’s difficult to tell through his pop-science veil of shitty writing which drops technical accuracy for easily understood metaphor), but his writings outside of hard science are essentially just trite, cutesy applications of biological principles as metaphors through which to view other matters, most which somehow pass in the minds of people who like to think they are literate/understand science for biology, philosophy, or both, despite not really reliably being either. (Seriously, dude, it worked with the “meme,” now give it a fucking rest.) It’s not about “arresting the pope,” it’s about trying to wake people the fuck up and getting them to start sucking the proverbial cock of Richard Dawkins. He’s hoping his legion of dogmatically atheist followers will just keep vomitting up even less eloquent versions of his attempt at wit, buying his books, and feeding his decidedly irritating cult of personality. I’m all for holding the Catholic Church responsible for what it’s done, but let’s not go acting like anyone, especially the atheists whose name he seems so intent on ruining, should say positive things about Richard Dawkins.
Is the popcorn ready? Even without a show (for it would be nothing more), popcorn is just plain delicious to eat.
Also, The Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus filed bankrupcy last year to get enough funds to pay for counselling for a number of Native Americans and Alaskans that were abused by priests on their lands. First time that’s every happened. A big part of the Church is allowing for healing to take place (for all things - not just for these sorts of incidents).
You know what’s the amazing thing about this whole thread? It’s misrepresenting what the guy actually said:
that’s why I wanted to point that the Sunday Times was the source
So when is all of this going to happen?
“A clear-thinking oasis.”
Richard Dawkins is such an asshole.
It’s ironic that your hate for Dawkins is stronger than any atheistic position he’s ever taken up
