Although kirokokiri’s 19 now, so neither are that close to 13 anymore.
Oh man. I almost forgot about this place. I never posted much but I lurked a lot, and then, well…I don’t know. Maybe it has something to do with SA, or maybe not, but…yeah.
Surprised I still remember my password, it’s been a looooong time since I’ve logged in here. Glad to see the place is still around, though.
That seems to be where pretty much everybody went.
As good as this place was its still based upon RPGs and a little anime and really lacks in diversity beyond the main discussion and general gaming forums. And everything this site used to have is pretty much a memory now. Final Fantasy hasn’t had a worthwhile entry since 11, SaGa’s been all but abandoned, nobody’s willing to operate D&D games, Spoony’s gone and so is his webcomic, not many took up spriting despite how easy it is, and I haven’t heard word one from the Yonin no Translator guys in years. And that’s not to mention how shrines are no longer being accepted, nobody’s touched the wiki since that FFXIII-1 initiative fell through, and LPs have made both redundant anyway.
The destruction of the PC Gaming Forum was the end of the end for this forum.
edit: Let me rephrase that. The ANNIHILATION of the PC Gaming Forum was the end of the end for this forum.
Also, on the real here, do you Eden or anyone else still talk to Crimson or Poshul Chesai anymore? I wonder how they are doing or if they still keep in touch
I think since I’ve been playing games with Zephyros (pretty much the same core group of people- insanely diverse from all walks of life, one is a higher up senior something i can’t recall at this moment at capcom, one is a lawyer, actually they are all pretty much white rich people like myself) for nearly 8 years now I take my online relationships quite a but more serious than most. I’ve met quite a few of them too actually, though Kal and Sonicbomber got to go to Blizzcon with them those bastards those damn dirty bastards
you are a bunch of faggots,

Another thing is that after a point there was so much trolling that no one would join the place any more. A lot of people with >100 posts burnt out that way. Is there any user other than Helios who joined after me and is still around?
I’m still around, although much less frequently than I used to be…real life does that. I’ve been working 58 hours a week for the past couple of weeks and I’m getting pretty burned out.
I thought I’d pop in on my birthday and I’m very disapointed that I don’t have a single post in the birthday thread :bowser:.
Oh man, I just noticed I still had my Agarest avatar showing…I’ve finished that months ago…maybe I’ll find a good Guild Wars 2/League of Legends/Eternal Poison one to update it.
Aww, happy birthday dude.
Thanks Sin! I know us “oldies” are always saying how old we feel, but still got one more year until I hit the big 3-0 shudders:hahaha;.
Happy birthday.
You’re not that old.
Nulani likely meant, you’re not old enough. Yet.
It’s rather bizarre to feel how the ways things used to work on the net have become obsolete. Obsolete. I am not at an age where I should be able to feel obsolete. When I started coming here a decade ago, people in the internet were still getting their panties in a bunch over 2MB SNES ROMs and the few RPG translation projects that went through were hailed as epic landmarks. Also, you could say “Epic” without getting your balls stomped. Nowadays, you can go download shit like Fate/stay night, a visual novel about three times larger than the Lord of the Rings, and nobody bats an eye. Yet that fucking PSX ToP translation is not yet done.
Shitloads of manga get scanlated every week. You can find subbed anime, practically any anime, hours after broadcast in Japan. LPs are a thing. Penny Arcade is a serious media enterprise. People like Doug Walker and Noah Antwiler make careers about talking about pop culture shit on web videos. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I turned on a TV, since all my information consumption comes from the web and if I want to watch something, I can just download it. It’s weird. It’s become so common that I barely noticed how much things changed in ten years. I’m not saying it’s bad by any means, but the first time you realize that the way you used to do things isn’t needed anymore is rather shocking. “Holy shit, I’m 24 years old” kind of shocking.
Anyhow, if anybody cares, I’m finishing my studies on translation this year (That’s a real college career here, with the upside of being actually profitable, as opposed to everythingelse that has to do with languages) and entering the “Holy shit, now what do I do?” post-schooling part of my life trying to land a job. I’m still single and just now barely managing to undo a decade of moronic self-inflicted social reclusion that greatly delayed my maturity, and… well, that’s about it. And if I may plug it in, if anybody needs English-Spanish translation services, please do give me a call.
EDIT: Holy shit, there are people in the RP forum. And I don’t know any of them. What the hell, who are they? Was there a subsection of users who visited just that chunk of the site all along?
I’ve been asking that for a long time.
A few years ago, some Twilight fans found our RP forum. And they have since been running like a thousand Twilight-esque teen supernatural romance RPs with a million posts in each. It’s absurd.
Fortunately though they’ve kept themselves fairly contained which I suspect is probably a good thing since the site gets the benefit of their traffic with none of the useless topic clutter that they would be posting if they ever bothered to crawl out of their hole; unless of course, they’re eating up the site’s bandwidth which still can’t be that much of a problem given our own lack of activity.
I don’t know if it’s still true, but the RPGCommunity was never the bandwidth driver. I know a couple of years ago we still got tons of hits for the Shrines and whatnot.
I transformed into a muffin and got into Touhou and I have not given a shit about my divided internet-identity ever since my debit card got stolen, and I am now seeking psychiatric help for some sort of depression, or at least mood-oscillations.
I’m currently hiding in my apartment from Hurricane Sandy, which doesn’t seem like it’ll be a very big problem for southern New Hampshire, I just wanted you all to know that in case this is my last post on RPGC because my third-story apartment got flooded and the building ate me.
EDIT: So, the hurricane is literally not showing up on any trackers anymore and it’s bright and sunny now, so … :V
Yeah, they closed all the schools in WNY today for nothing. We had some wind and rain, but nothing screaming “OMG Frankenstorm is here! Run for your lives!” I really feel sorry for those in New Jersey though. A co-worker’s mother’s hometown, some island off of Atlantic City is completely underwater.
We don’t get hurricanes here. Or earthquakes. Or floods, or really, any major disasters. The last tornado to hit this city was 25 years ago, and the worst we’ve had since then was the odd winter storm or very big thunderstorm. And well, the annual drop to -40.
