With regard to Tales of Phantasia, I have a hard time seeing some of the darker areas when I play it on my original DS in bright light.
With BoF2, Capcom sadly recycled the shitty SNES translation (Impossibly, I think they may have actually added some mistakes). Good game, sorry translation.
Haven’t played much of BoF1 GBA, though.
Lufia: Ruins of Lore is good, but the monsters took too long to beat and the battles had an annoying amount of lag.
I loved Zelda: Minish Cap, but it suffers from a rather short main quest (it’s the Kinstone hunt where you’ll rack up some hours). Very fun to play.
I find FFTA fun, though I think it’s more suited to short sessions than long ones. Can get repetitive.
And I also enjoy Mother 1+2, but that will require an attempt to understand Japanese (I can’t understand most of the plot, gotta carry my dictionary to at least figure out the items), so it’s probably not a very good suggestion.
actually FF3 IS coming out on DS FF5,6 are coming to GBA and a really good RPG for GBA OR GBC is The legend of Zelda: Oracle of season and Oracale of ages
both really fun zelda games
To me i think that i must say Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts chain of memories. I loved to play both of these rpgs, very good ones for such erm…system i guess. Simply adored how they made chain of memories…
I recommend Tales of Phantasia, although I’m stuck in Dhaos’ castle right now. I’d recommend FF4 too but I haven’t played it yet on GBA; i heard it’s wicked though.
Kill the loading time on V (not as bad as CT, but still. Yes, and I know there’s the RPGe translation)!
For VI, though, they’re realling going to have to prove it wasn’t good enough already on the SNES (still have the cart).
Zelda is a game with swords and magic, it’s not an RPG by any definition of the word, it’s action adventure. The second Zelda WAS an RPG, but that doesn’t extend to the rest of the series.
