My PSX is a piece of shit. I can’t afford a PS2 yet, so I’ve been making due with my brother’s old Playstation. Problem is, it always was a cheap piece of crap. But now, it’s finally screwing up big time. Refusing to load games, freezing when it DOES work, and once, it even reformatted my Memory Card somehow. Don’t ask me how, it just erased everything on it.
The worst part is, A lot of the games I’ve recently bought and tried playing were bought used, so I have no fucking clue as to if it’s the games malfunctioning somehow, or if it’s all the Machine’s fault.
If I can’t think of anythign better by tomorrow, I’m smashing the damn thing with a hammer.
You have now described my situation with my Valkyrie Profile game. It frigged up big time, so I went and got the game cleaned and still nothing works. Either the game is shit, or my PSX is just being too old and stubburn to do anything. Or would it be my Memory Card? Problems problems problems -_-;;
It’s fun though, doing it the original way. I spend too much time at a computer as it is, and emulating just annoys the hell out of me. I have no choice when it comes to Super NES but I refuse to get a PSX emulator because of the control annoyances and plus…I’m old school!! It has to be the original system if possible.

Soem people are obsessive, yeah. I admit I was even liek that awhile ago. But now, I have no problems wit leaving thsi place for awhile, and going off to read a book or something. I just enjoy the intelligent conversations and discussions that go on here.
If you’re talking about getting the games, yeah, that’s a problem since it’s really hard these days. If you’re talking about controllers, there’s a thing called adaptoid that may help with some consoles, and regular joypads will do for old things like Snes & Genesis. But if you’re talking about video issues, it’s all a matter of having decent hardware.
