Gamecube.

Ok, I’m probly gonna get a Gamecube today. And, if not today, definitely by the end of the month.

Your mission? Reccomend me games. I will eventually get a GBA player, but I already know most of what I want for GBA. Your only guidelines for reccomendation is, nothing that I can’t buy on PS2 already (Like the new TMNT game), and no 3D fighting games (YES, EVEN Soul Calibur 2 :P).

Games I already plan on getting:

Viewtiful Joe
Mario Kart: Double Dash!
F-Zero (Maybe)
Phantasy Star Online (Maybe)

And, if I remember correctly, it already comes with Wind Waker and that Zelda Box Set CD and all that rot.

Ok, so reccomend me stuff. Thanks.

The zelda special doesn’t include WW. WW is pretty good though, but very short. If you don’t mind FPS, Metroid Prime is awesome, Fzero GX is also a very good game. PSO, that’s debatable. You might want to wait until the 3rd version comes out, though when that is I don’t know. You also can’t own a GC without Super Smash Brother Melee.

Also, keep in mind Tales of Symphonia is coming in a couple months along with FFCC.

That a pretty good amount of games there, SG. Probably pick up Skies of Acardia (don’t have it yet), as I heard it a great rpg. As for other games, probably get Mario Sunshine, Luigi Mansion, and the very fun Pikimin (no relation to Pikachu).

I’d advise against Mario Kart Double Dash, it is surprisingly disappointing. The controls and gameplay are good, but the tracks are pretty dull. There is only a handful of truly memorable tracks. Mario Kart 64 is leagues above Double Dash. If you like a challenge, get Super Mario Sunshine. If you want a unique racing game and don’t mind taking a beating, get F-Zero GX (it’s uber hard). Must get Animal Crossing! If you say it doesn’t appeal to you, then all the better reason to get it. It didn’t appeal to me at all and I got it on a whim and it turned out to be my favorite GC game. Wave Race is cheap, so if you like Wave Race 64, this is up your alley, but it too suffers from amazing tracks, but not to the extent of Double Dash. Soul Calibur 2 is actually pretty good on GC. I usually try to get the XBOX version because of the controller and, graphics, and most of all memory (8gb hard drive vs 8mb memory card vs 4mb memory card, yeah that’s a tough decision). However, I got the GC version fro Link and I was pleasantly surprised. Pikmin is sort of unique and fun so it’s be a nice game to get. Star Fox Adventures isn’t too bad, definitely better than most adventure games, but not quite as good as Zelda.

Heh, well if you get Star Fox Adventures you can go and give my walkthrough a test run. (That and it would be a good reason to get off my ass and finish it >_<)

Also, I’ll make another recommendation for SSBM and Metroid Prime, they are both great games. Also, you should probably rent the Lost Kingoms games. I say rent since they are kind of weird RPGs and somewhat short, but I like them.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve got to say.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Rogue Squadron 2 & 3
Game Boy Player & FFTA

Super Smash Brothers Melee - Great party game, a rather easy “fighter”, but it offers plenty of high-level play as well. Collecting trophies is also nice for nostalgia :stuck_out_tongue:

Metroid Prime - Basically, a platformer combined with a FPS, awesome graphics and the Metroid title. I still haven’t finished it myself, but damn it’s sweet.

Skies of Arcadia Legends - A pretty damn nice remake of the Dreamcast game, it adds a few new sidequests, items etc. I wouldn’t reccommend buying it though if you own the original, not enough changes.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Rather short, but sweet. The graphics are a really refreshing change from standard anime/über-realistic graphics, and work really well for the game. It’s also a lot more plot driven than other Zelda games, in my opinion. And the final battle is just plain awesome.

Eternal Darkness - Survival Horror with a twist: You slowly go insane. That’s really the best part of the game, since there are a TON of insanity effects. I won’t spoil them, but they’ll freak you out :stuck_out_tongue:

Phantasy Star Online - It’s pretty fun, but just your basic hack and slash RPG. It really becomes great when you have 3 other people in the same room to play with, though. (the camera sucks, but meh) If you want Episode 3 (the next game, coming out in a while), well, it’s some crazy cardgame :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t played F-Zero myself, but it looks decent enough. Probably one of the few racing games I’d like :stuck_out_tongue: Also, don’t forget about the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Tales of Symphonia (I swear, if ToS doesn’t come to Europe, I’m killing myself. Or, you know, importing it. Blah.)

I can probably think of a bunch of other titles, but I gotta run now. You know where I am 24/7, so just ask :stuck_out_tongue:

Wrongo. The bundle comes with The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask and a Wind Waker demo. It doesn’t include the hand helds or Lttp.

No, really. Get Soul Calibur 2. It’s amazing.

Get Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes when it comes out.

Oh damn, forgot about MGS. When is that coming out? And where’s frameskip to tell us about SC Ghost?

I beilieve it got pushed back to Feb. Hopefully it’ll come out next month though. But it seems to be leaning toward Feb =/

Fuck this mission! And fuck you pancho! :stuck_out_tongue: Or something… but get Skies of Arcadia! Look at the Resident Evil series if you haven’t. Wind Waker, and remember to buy a GameCube with the Zelda’s Colletor’s Edition.

Don’t listen to Infonick, Mario Kart Double Dash is a fun, but tough racing game. Got to love having King Boo and Wario team up on any poor fool. I also recommand Enteral Darkness and maybe Resident Evil. I have those games…but I haven’t even played them yet.

Yes~ getting Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is a must!!
I still haven’t unlock King Boo and Mirror Mode yet… Cause the racing is pretty tough… At least for me that is…

You mentioned that you don’t want fighting games eh…? Samsh Bros. Melee is fun~ but it’s… Sorta a fighting game… Actually… It is. Ah well, it’s a great multiplayer game~ It’s a must have for parties!!

If you’re a Resident Evil fan, getting Resident Evil 0 would be nice.
