G.U. Reminisce

Another thread that probably only Cro will care about. Second volume is in with a number of improvements.

On-the-go weapon change. Not as practical as it sounds (can only be used through the skill trigger) but still pretty nice. God, I LOVE the scythe.

Weapon touch ups. You’re less of a sitting duck with the broadsword and you practically fly around with the twin blades.

Pimp your ride. You can touch up the bike now and compete against other records like with Grunties in the original. Matsu is apparently the new Balmung for time scores.

Several new characters. That don’t do shit. Honestly, you get them as leftovers after their story arcs are done.

And a whole lot of story stuff. It seems my theory on Tri-Edge was correct, though I’d still like to know what the hell is “Kite” then. Also some .hackers actually showing living signs, albeit not interacting with the story itself. Yet.

Finally, it seems the Japanese guidebook has an interesting little tidbit on Haseo and why he was the one with Skeith’s Epitaph. Actually, it’s not a tidbit, it’s a fucking bomb. It’s not actually mentioned in the games, so you might call it background information, and it doesn’t actually spoil anything, but still:
Ryou Misaki was one of the original Lost Ones during the Twilight Event, but because he had remained in a coma longer than everybody else, his memory suffered damage and he forgot everything related to The World. He was not only drained by Skeith, but also partially assimilated into him, which linked them together.

He was actually the first Lost One.

Sora.

Haseo was Sora.

WHAT.THE.FUCK.
Wait, wasn’t he the twin-bladed jack-ass from SIGNS who picked fights with just about everyone?
Yes. But “jackasss” isn’t correct, he was an egoistical and moronic ten-year-old who just liked to stick his nose everywhere.

And he’s the same guy as Haseo. The names Haseo and Sora actually come from a poet and his disciple.

I mean, it has been seven years and a memory wipe, but STILL O_o
I haven’t even played the first game, I’m waiting for all 3 games to cost $20 a pop instead of $50 like I paid for the original 4 ($200 worth).

Edit: Whoa, just read the spoilers about Haseo/Skeith… thats… um. Wow. I don’t know what to say other than WTF.

That’s probably correct, I haven’t seen SIGNS in a long while. Though it doesn’t feel that long. :frowning:

Though now I’m wondering what Roots has on this?

Nothing. Haseo mentions at first that he heard of The World from a friend of his that used to play the previous version (I’m guessing Wiseman), but that’s all. He himself doesn’t even realize that he used to be a player.
