I’ve seen boards in which after joining, you can only start posting after an admin has allowed you to. If I remember well, Nul’s board works like this. So admins could, like, have noobs email them telling how they will follow the rules well and all that… Make the noob have his comments on the rules to be sure that he’s read them… And only then he gets his account activated.

Yes, my boards require admin activation. Everytime someone signs up, I get an email, and I have to click a link to activate that persons account. It stops the people who sign up just to increase their google rank.
That’d put a terrible workload on Merlin though.

I like the idea of a test. ‘Write a ten page essay explaining the rules on RPGClassics.’

And if there’s a rule test for the newbs, then the people who have already joined should take the test too, it’s not just newbs that don’t know the rules…

The only thing I’ve ever gotten in trouble for were my Pip Boy avatars, a few of which I guess toed the line a little.
