It was some sort of “Interactive Anime” with a story that even though it wasn’t in the series, it fit just right. It was developed by Gainax (Duh) and had the same voice actors and staff that the anime had. A girl named Mana moves into Shinji’s school and starts hitting on him , at the same time a strange robot that resembles the Eva’s makes a sudden appearence and Mana seems to be involved (No, she isn’t the pilot). There’s also a few comic relief scenes like a “Coordination Experiment” wich consisted of the Eva 00 fishing (With a giant fising rod, a giant chair and even a giant lunch bag).
GoS2 is based on that scene in Chapter 26 (The scene in the “Alternative World” where there are no Evas, no Angels, no Nerv and Gendo is a caring parent). This one is simpler, basically everyone wants to screw Shinji: Rei, Asuka and even Kaworu.
