You and Vidalia onions. Bah. Walla Walla onions are where it’s at. Look at what ONION EXPERT Jan Roberts-Dominguez says about Walla Wallas and Vidalias:
Of the silver screen’s greatest dancing duo, who was the better dancer? Well, the joke goes, it would have been Fred Astaire, except Ginger Rogers performed the same steps backwards, and in heels.
That’s sort of how I view the age-old rivalry between two of the nation’s best known sweet onions, Vidalias and Walla Walla Sweets. The Georgia-bred Vidalia is undeniably a tasty morsel. But in the temperate winters of southeast Georgia, where the thermometer lingers obligingly in the 50’s and 60’s, who wouldn’t turn out sweet?
The Walla Walla, on the other hand, offers the same sweet performance, better in fact, only under far more adverse conditions. After all, they grow at almost 1000 feet above sea level and tough it out through Pacific Northwest winters that typically dip down into the low 20’s.
As you can clearly see, we in the Northwest are far superior at growing deliciously sweet onions than you damn confederates.
That said, onion rings are alright, but sauteed onions are better.
I’m an onion expert, and I say giffer’s onions are the best. Bob Sacamato’s come in a close second, with Steve Coppernicle’s onions sliding into a comfortable third position. oh yeah
My favourite cereal is Mini-Wheats, especially if you eat them with the frosted side pointing towards your tongue for maximum frosted flavour goodness.
I just hate how they’re packaged. The boxes are thinner than normal cereal boxes, meaning there’s less cereal than there should be. You can literally open up a box of Mini-Wheats and easily count how many wheats are in there. Also, when you reach the near bottom, all you get is this crushed-up wheat nonsense. If I wanted that, I’d buy Shredded Wheat, thank you very much.
My favourite type of cereal is cheerios. Sure, I like count chocula, nesquick, reeses cereal, but cheerios is the only type that I don’t get sick of eventually. I usually have it with milk, but I also don’t mind eating it dry at the same time, because it tastes good.
