The episode finished at the end of chapter 102. In other words, that episode just covered two full chapters worth of material.

Episode 59: Looks like Mustang needs a new title.
For an episode that covered two full chapters worth of material it managed to cover them pretty well. The face-off between Scar and Wrath was an awesome buildup to their battle, the reveal of Mustang’s price was done well (although Ed’s inspection of Mustang was slightly better in the manga if only for the fact that it helped to throw off one’s anticipation of Mustang’s price), and the Gold-Tooth Guy’s reaction to Scar/May/The Chiimera’s entrance got a chuckle out of me.
Next episode: Its Final Boss Fight time. Now we’ll get to see The Plan, secret weapons, and why they named this series after Full Metal. \m/_

I think I owe it to everyone to make a belated public service announcement.
Some time during the previous week, FMA concluded (in Japan). Because of this the internet will most likely be swarming with raw pics and scans of the final chapter. Beware any spoilers made during the previous week for any of them could try to sneak a massive FMA spoiler into them (and believe me, I’ve had FMA spoilers crop up in completely unrelated threads in the past, this IS a serious threatdown). Especially for those of you who are trying to watch the show.

And Wrath vs. Scar Pt.2 was pretty awesome until said major event interrupted it.
Killmore: Since the manga’s finished, how many more episodes are left then? We’ve gotta be getting pretty close to the end, right?
Its been confirmed for 64 episodes to allow for the supersized final chapter.
The last episode will air on the 4th of July if no weeks are skipped.
So Father’s plan is to drag down a god that looks like an eye? If he had absorbed a philosophy book, he’d have been served better. Honestly, I’m a bit underwhelmed by his motivation.
He basically just absorbed the planet’s gate and all the knowledge and power therein.
Anyways episode 60: another episode I was waiting for is now complete, and it looked GLORIOUS!
People were saying they felt End of EVA vibes with this episode and they were hella right. [SPOILER]Its too bad that this series isn’t the kind of clusterfuck typical of a Gainax production otherwise we would have people spitting fire over this for years to come.
Next episode: Info Dumps and people bitching about the flagrant abuses of Deus Ex Machina’s (even though one needs only to go back and pay attention to realize that it was all there to begin with and thus proving once again just how loving incredible the planning and foresight was in the making of this series).[/SPOILER]

In fact I highly recommend that after everything is all said and done to go back to the beginning and reread (or rewatch) the series with the knowledge of everything that’s going to happen and see just how many hints were dropped in regards to all the big twists.

Finished it about an hour and a half ago myself.
Holy hell that was awesome. That had to be the single best ending to a manga that I have ever read.

So everything’s back to the way it was…sorta. I can see why people would complain about Deus Ex Machinas here, but they’ve been showing that stuff for a while now. Just never knew what the purpose of it was.
And yeah, Scar got very lucky, but it was a spectacular fight. I had to rewatch the end of the fight to figure out why Wrath’s arms came off. Damn Wrath’s a badass to the end.
And the whole Pride thing was a bit fucked up. Edward crushed the head of a small child only to find a fetus?
Next Episode: War against Father! And yeah, it said there were only 3 episodes left.
