I must say that while that was good, I was expecting a bit more. Maybe after I see the trailer it’ll look a lot better.

That was a nice FMV with a very smooth framerate, but not smooth enough to see a difference between it and FMVs on games on current consoles.
Thats a pretty shitty way to kick off the next-gen rumors.

Wow. All this technology, and they still can’t eliminate jaggies like the N64 did. Shameful.
Just a clarification, when I said it was ‘good but dissappointing’ I meant that it is good by current-gen standards, but not quite what I am expecting of next-gen.
If you’re expecting a leap as huge as from the SNES to the N64, don’t hold your breath. That will never happen again. I laughed at how barely-better the PS2 was over the PSX.

There was a big jump between PSX and PS2 graphics. In cause you didn’t notice, and I’m betting you didn’t, FFX’s graphics make FFIX’s graphics look like crap. As do most PS2 games when compared to PSX games. If there wasn’t a jump between graphics new systems wouldn’t have been made.

I DID notice that PS2’s graphics were better than PSX’s, and I did notice the leap between FFIX’s and FFX’s. Did YOU notice that the leap was practically negligible compared to going from 2d sprites to polygonal characters and pre-rendered backgrounds? Because that’s exactly what I was getting at. Next time read more than 3 words from a given post before responding. And make sure you actually interpret it correctly before having the nerve to insult someone blindly for it.

And I liked Sega CD better… it had the Power Rangers game where you watched the recycled episode while pressing buttons, and if you failed you died a terrible, terrible death. I always lost at it. :boring:
And they had that Sherlock Holmes game that was boring as hell.

I think that the difference between the PSX and PS2 was pretty good and definitely enough to make upgrading worth it. The increase in disc storage was also another. However, it is too soon to scrap the current generation and go for another. The current generation is still going strong and games still have lots of room to grow.
Those pictures were pretty disapointing. Is it so much to ask for a Final Fantasy Tactics in 3D now :hahaha;? You don’t need a next-generation system for that.
Having just rewatched the trailer at IGN there aren’t any ‘jaggie’. And you haven’t tried to be ‘civil’ with me at all! Your quit message for a fair while on IRC was “I hate Jango and hope he dies.” thats not being civil. Steve has told you multiple times to shut up when you’ve been insulting me, and although it doesn’t matter since I have you on ignore. Thats not being civil, so pull your head out of your ass before you get all high and mighty.
Pull yours out of your ass first. Your eyes are as good as covered with shit. You don’t don’t even know what I say, and Steve telling me to shut up usually isn’t justified. Oh, as for jaggies. The N64 had its fair share, Zelda comes mind. It didn’t have as many as the PSX and possibly even PS2 games, but it wasn’t exclusive. Also, most GC, and a good amount of XBOX games don’t have jaggies. A lot of recent PS2 games haven’t had jaggies too bad either.
I move that Hades and Jango be banned except PMs so they can flame each other all they want without everyone else having to watch 'em. But anyway – are you SURE that was FMV?
