No. That isn’t evolutionary biology. Evolution works by differential reproduction and an acquired trait that isn’t transmissible to offspring will not bear any selection.
Anyway, the chick or guy’s just another one of those apocalyptic model idiots. People adapt and people fight back. The internet is far too relied upon by all segments of society to fall apart. Hell, researchers are using the internet continuously to extract information and input information into databases like genome projects to name some. I highly doubt anything could trash up the internet enough to send this down the pits. And let’s not forget the IM syndrome, the ability to communicate quickly and efficiently.
The whole point of the internet was to design a method of communication that could not be knocked out. It’s not centralized so no one catastrophe can wipe it out, and like Sin said, people adapt to new threats.

Well, that’s not entirely true. There are only about a dozen top-level DNS servers. If those get knocked out, the Internet would shut down shortly afterwards, as people’s caches cleared.
Hahaha, I love you. Also, I really really doubt the internet will “crash.” I heard some of my teachers talking about a “second” internet being created, but I don’t know how credible this is. They’re pretty old, and old people don’t know anything. ;_;
So One attack might not. But a dozen at the same time or inquick sucesson could criple the net to basicly shut down…

Ehhh…I doubt it could go completely out…it’s more likely that it’ll gain consciousness and enslave humanity for it’s own purposes.
