Final Fantasy XI - Tomorrow

I’d get it if my computer didn’t suck and I had a job

I can’t believe this game is coming out on my birthday. To me, it’s a disgrace to the FF series. I’m totally against the whole Pay to Play thing. Well, that and I don’t have the money for a new computer, and I won’t spend the money to turn my PS2 into a computer.

Heh, well it’s understandable really. There’s no other way they could maintain the servers unless you want to pay $1000 up front to play all you want after that. Tons of MMORPGs are P2P- it’s the only way large ones can run really.

I didn’t say that it didn’t made sense, its just not very good for my budget. <_<;;

I would think about getting it if I had a job/was in college/didn’t have the shitload of work I’m gonna have all this year, but as it is, I’m gonna have to decline even making that step. Pity.

Is it possible to have single player for PS2?

No, of course not. That completely ruins the POINT of the game.

So what would happen if I tried to play it without a modem, it’d crash or something right?

You wouldn’t be able to log on to the server and just stare at the intro screen all day.

I might get it, but first I have to get lots of money. Then I have to get my computer fixed. Then I have to find out how much I have to pay each month. Then I have to log on. Then I have to…goes on for days

And I don’t hate MMORPGs. They’re not my favorite genre, but they don’t such, either. It’s the idiots that REALLY ruin them. Sadly, for every sane, intelligent person, there are roughly one million insane, retarded idiots. It’s just a risk you have to take.

Im getting it and no one will tell me different.pokes all those with a stick who tries to tell hime different.

No but really since it is today…uhh today, I will probaly go pick it up. Im probaly gonna go with a human Paladin. Cause I want to purify people with the light.runs around purifying people with the light “Your purifyed!!!”

You need to get level 30 in either Warrior, Thief, Monk, Black Mage, White Mage or Red Mage before you can select Paladin, or any of the other advanced classes for that matter. And you need to complete a quest for that, too.

Eh…it’s possible to meet cool people in MMORPGs. It’s just not too likely. So you should find people you know you can play with before starting since if you meet a lot of nice people, you’re either very lucky or a liar.

Ya I know about that so I will probaly just go with a warrior first then bump up to paladin. I cant remember can you mix jobs. A black mage paladin would kick ass.

Yeah, you can learn a Second job, AND use its abilities while in another job, but of course, all experience goes to the First job. So, If you want to be a Paladin/Black Mage, all the spells you learned as a Mage are usable while you’re a Paladin, but you can’t learn any more whitout switching back. (You change jobs at your Mog house.)

BTW, isn’t it ODD that you can upgrade from THIEF to PALADIN?

PS: Other people can’t KILL you and steal your stuff in THIS MMORPG, I hope?

There is talk of an arena coming, but no, there is no PvP.

You only get half the skills and stats from your secondary job though (secondary jobs count for half the level of your primary job, max), so giving a Paladin very weak black magic seems stupid :stuck_out_tongue: You’d be better off with another melee job, at least those boost the stats you’ll use. And Paladin/Warrior is pretty good, due to the paladin’s insane defense and the Warrior’s access to Taunt, making you the perfect tank.

I would get it but I’m not too big on the pay to play thing. Guess the DC version of PSO spoiled me. ::shrugs::

No time, no money. Simple.
