this intrigues me. Can I be Kefka? Although I have more of an evil mad scientist maniacal laugh. I actually probably don’t fit his profile now that I think about it. Who should I be?
Celes
Countdown to the Sin/Hitler pic starts… NOW.
I’m rather confused, is this merely a re-writing of the English script, or is this a full re-translation of the Japanese? I’d be willing to help if this is either a re-writing of the English, or if the translation is being done from Romaji (I can’t read Kanji, though I’m currently learning). I could and would be willing to do any of the parts. Of the open characters, I could probably perform best as Leo or Celes.
(Also, I’d like to request first-in-line position for Locke if whoever’s doing him falls through. I know it’s not likely, but, just in case. Because I am a super-fanboy/whore.)
Kefka is set to be ‘overly verbose’ and is currently cast by me. You should play Gesthal ( Hitler. )
You were here for that? I hardly remember it even, except for the reason it never happend: SOMEONE decided it belonged in the Free RP Forum, and then everyone was all “eww free rp i quit.” Fuckin’ bullshit.
But that’s ok, because it would’ve failed eventually just like everything else I ever came up with here. Thanks for boosting my self-esteem, RPGClassics!
Not enough lines. I wanna be Edgar. It’d be very fitting.
Is this actually going to be voiced? If so, how? Or are we just talking about text?
I’d like to try Celes.
edit: Yeah if it’s voiced count me out But if I’m just writing, I’ll try out. Will we have the dialogue that we are to reply to? The dialogue that is written by the rest of us I mean…just so we have something to go by?
If Sephiroth doesn’t want to do Gau, I’ll do it. Well-educated meaning big(er) words and proper grammer, right?
Think Big Moose turns Dilton
Worse than Dilton
Anyway, this is a <b>reworking of the script which is already in English but not funny so we’re gonna make it funnier</b> and <b>there is no voice acting involved only IRC text exchanges</b>.
Right, then I’m definitely ready to help. I’ll audition for any parts that are open.
Actually, I think you’d do a good Gestahl. Sorry man, but like I told Rirse, if I didn’t post it, it’s not up for grabs. There’s only one character I’m withholding so far. If you want to know, ask me privately. And man fool, I’M Edgar.
Arac, it’s not a REAL script retranslation…we’re just altering the dialogue.
Cid, Eva, no, it won’t be voiced. We’re editing the rom. And I’m sorry Eva, I don’t really understand your question.
Like, are we just flying solo here? Or can we see the revised script with the improvised dialogue, so that we know what we’re responding to? Say that SK is Gau and Gau is saying something weird, will whomever is doing Celes, see that dialogue change so they can think about how to respond to what Sk’s Gau said in the first place?
We already have the entire original script (we have an editor that extracts dialogue from the actual rom).
We’re just making the lines different, personality-wise.
Like, for Terra the depressed teenager:
“Oh, you rescued me?”
would be editted to
“Sigh… I suppose you saved me, and I’m supposed to, like, thank you or something?”
Yeah I know, so each cast member wont be able to see the changed dialogue until it has been finished? That’s what I’m asking, if we all see the lines before hand, that way, we have a better opportunity to plan how the character would respond…even though we have to keep to the original flow of the story anyway.
I thought this was dialogue
That’s why we use the chat for this (and that’s why we’re in the chat RIGHT NOW #ff6project)
Yeah, Eva, you’ll be able to see it. Actually, we are acting out some of the beginning parts of the game in IRC right now. I imagine some of this will be done with e-mail back-and-forths eventually, where one person does all their lines for a scene, and then we pass it to another person who does all their stuff and so on, and then after that, I, the editor, makes changes accordingly. But, for now, we’re trying to do as much of it as we can without doing that.
Anyways, for that reason, you’ll be LOOKING at the original script while you do it, and acting out the changed lines in a chat room with everyone else involved. SO, you’ll see the changed script AND the original script as you work.
