I always thought Kuja made a good successor to Kefka. Not quite as insane (until near the end, arguably), but he sure had a flair for style, which I like. I mean, quoting shakespeare (that world’s equivalent, anyway), riding a silver dragon, lying to everyone, and don;t forget the exceedingly slow deathtrap… he knew what it was, to play the villain!
Kuja would have been a decent villain had his mode of dress not induced gags.
I thought Kuja was pretty sweet, he dressed that way cause he thought power was beauty or something, I thought.
I recall somebody saying way back when that Kuja probably dresses that way because he wants attention. He’s the neglected older child of sorts, after all, so that claim makes a lot of sense.
FF12…hmmm…you either like or you dont, i loved the game, and i knew alot of people who didnt, you would have to play it yourself to decide if you like it, i didnt like it for awhile after i played it for awhile, then just this summer i decided to play it again, and this time i really enjoyed it, so its a matter of opinion…
I bought this game the day it came out, and while not the best FF ever, I thought it did live up to the FF Regime. It was truley a great game
Since we are on the topic, anybody care to share their thoughts on FFXII Revenant Wings?
It’s a decent if forgettable game… my first RTS, so I don’t know how it stacks up against others of its genre. Much lighter tone than FF12. The one big complaint I have against it is that practically every one of its music tracks is a rehash from FF12. X-X It’s challenging without necessarily being frustrating.
Its a fun enough game, but its pretty shallow. The game isn’t really a strategy game as 95% of it is just make a big mass and throw it at the enemy. I actually liked the way they recycled the music. I found it was a better application of the FFXII soundtrack and made me like it more. The only thing that’s hard in the game is if you do all the side quests and get 100% completion. Then the final bos is level 99 and rapes your party unless you grind for hours up to level 80. I resented that.
Ah…FF12. I thought it was a decent game at best. I really like the Gambit system, but the story was kinda non-existent for me. There weren’t really a lot of memorable moments in that game to be honest. Although that didn’t stop me from doing everything short of beating Yiazmat… (I don’t have hours to waste on an overpowered boss…too much damn HP.)
And Vanye wasn’t really that good of a villain. Nothing about him sticks out in my mind. Kinda pales in comparison to previous FF villains.
All-in-all, I had fun with it, but that’s all. Got it cheap enough. ($20 for Special Edition)
I think FF12 had the best gameplay (although the license system is too easily abused). The only really problem with it is that Vaan, the main character wasn’t central to the story. It was more like he was just along for the ride. Without the central drive, it makes it hard to care about the characters. I love the battles, and I thought I’d hate the Gambit system, but it streamlines things very well. The only reason I haven’t finished it is because I don’t really care to find out what happens, but I have fun when I play it (which is the most important part of a game).
