Well there’s the English 3 which is listed as 6 on the PS FF Anthology and for Number 2 it is listed as 4 on the PS FF Chronicles. But you’er right the games are different then the originals in diiferent ways.
I’ve been thinking about what FFs are my favorties lately, but I haven’t really decided… they’re all so good.
Anyway, here’s where they stand right now…
FF 6/3 :ulty:
FF 9
FF 7 (I LOVE the Materia system!)
FF X-2
FF 10
FF 8 (Stupidest battle system, but the storyline’s pretty good)
FF CC
FF T
FF TA
FF 1
FF 2 (one released in FF Origins, not FF 4)
These are the only ones I’ve played… still missing the real 3 (of course), 4, 5, 11, and MQ. Sorry if I missed any.
Listing of all Final Fantasy games, just to clear up any confusion…
FF 1 (NES) ~ Released in Japan and America. Later released on Wonderswan, Playstation and soon GBA
FF 2 (NES) ~ Originally only released in Japan. Later released on Wonderswan, Playstation and soon GBA
FF 3 (NES) ~ So far, only released in Japan
FF 4 (SNES) ~ Released as FF 2 in America. Later released on Wonderswan and Playstation.
FF 5 (SNES) ~ Originally only released in Japan. Later released on Playstation.
FF 6 (SNES) ~ Released in America and Japan. Later released on Playstation.
FF Mystic Quest (SNES) ~ Originally only released in America, then later sent to Japan.
After FF7, pretty much every game in the series has been released in Japan, America and Europe with consistent titles.
Go to the FFCompendium Release Dates for more info on the topic.
Oh yeah… and here’s my ranking.
Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 5
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
… and the rest I either haven’t played or don’t really have much of an opinion on.
No, I don’t think you quite get it. They are completely different games - FF2 was on the Nintendo, as was FF3, and FF4 and FF6 are on the Super Nintendo. FF2 was only recently released state side on the wonderswan (I think?) and FF3 has never been released stateside.
I am so glad that Square of America finally woke up and realized that they need to give the games their real names. Even though they should have done it earlier. In my opinion, Square should remake (with their new technologies) every Final Fantasy for the PS3 (or whatever it’s gonna be called) even though it would take, like, 20 years… maybe they should get another department solely for that purpose… And once the PS4 comes out, they could continue but make the rest for PS4.
Yeah, I know, it’s never gonna happen, but you gotta admit, it would be better.
FF
FF V (I love the job system)
FF X
FF III
FFTA
FF IX (tentative, I’ve only played about a couple hours into the game ever)
FF IV
FF VI
FF VII
FF VIII (I need to replay this one. It may move up on my list after that)
FF II
FFMQ (boooooooring)
Well in regards to FF 3, there may be more than two. I have the actual physical FF 3 SNES version that was released in the U.S. However it is listed as FF 6 on the Anthology. There is, however, an FF 3 on the old NES but I do not have the copy of it.
I’m fairly certain I already explained this to you.
FF3 on the NES is the real FF3. FF2 on the SNES is actually FF4 - it was just called FF2 because only one other Final Fantasy had been released in America, so it would be weird to suddenly release a “FF4” when only having available an “FF1”.
FF 6 (US 3) - Plot, need I say more?
FF Tactics - Job system = good
FF 3 (unreleased) - Original job system, go Ninjas!
FF 5 - Did I mention the job system?
FF 2 (Origins release) - Gus learns kung-fu VERY well
Now, supposedly, X-2 has a job system type thing going on… but I fear a sequel, and I think chicks are hotter WEARING CLOTHES.
