It was FF7. Canât really remember why, just remember seeing it in a shop one day when I was out with a mate. And thought Iâd give it a try. Cause at that point in my life I didnât know anything really about Final Fantasy.
But ever since have loved everyone of them.
FFI when it came out. I was mostly watching my bro and cousin playing, though, because the only time I could touch the controller was to level their characters since it bored them. -_-
You know now that I think about it I think my first time was when I rented BoF form BlockBuster though in truth the 1st & 3rd Legend of Zeldaâs and Secret of Mana came before that, but I digress. Eventually, I played either FFâs 4 at a friendâs house or 6 though rental (And I wouldâve beaten it too if it werenât for that darn Wrexsoul and those dumb Soul Savers.):chupon:

FFI waaaaaay back when I had my NES-knockoff console. The game came with the machine, and even though it would be half a decade before I could actually understand a single word of it (I obviously didnât know English yet) I remember finishing by randomly going around and fighting stuff.
I remember I was left in awe by the ability to actually save my progress in a game 
I first heard of Final Fantasy from a Captain N episode back in 1991. Captain N and co. Were fighting Astos to awaken the Elf King. Then I had to have it. I bought it in August 1992. A year or two later I played Mystic Quest that a friend had. It wouldnt be until May 1998 that I would buy and play FFVII, my first one since Mystic Quest. I became hooked after that .
Who didnât get the free copy of Dragon Warrior? 
We got FF1 for Christmas I think, and itâs been on ever since.
FF4 for me. Heh, I still remember things like sleeping over at my cousinâs house and waking up in the middle of the night to find him playing the game⌠we all yelled at him to get to bed and he goes on about how he has to power up his Rydia Another of my cousins named Cecil âBeavisâ and Cain âButhedâ (since the character limit)
We had to rent it back then so weâd always get it for a week or so and then have to return it for awhile⌠weâd get it back and one of our games had jumped from Fabul all the way to the Moon, heheâŚ
Aand I remember picking up my extremely anal method of sorting my magic in that game that I still follow way back around then. Every spell has its place >.>
Ehh, the game has always had a bit of a soft spot for me. I still love firing it up and playing it through even though itâs lost all suspense and challenge

Damn, thatâs 17 years.
FF1 was my first; I played that, Dragon Warrior, and Crystalis almost simultaneously, switching cartages every two or three hours. But then my gaming career went into something of a hibernation. I guess that I had more fun doing other stuff, like sports and chicks. Mind you, getting a computer revived my career, thanks to the games by Sierra. I was hooked on King Quest and Gabriel Knight series. Somehow, I came across a PC version of this game, and I just had to rename my dogs Fujin and Raijin. Now, You should see my cool gray trench coat and my plastic gunblade.
Oh yeah, and the other FFs were played in due course.
Fuck yeah, Cyrstalis. That game was amazing. Epic as fuck for an NES RPG.
I started with Final Fantasy 8 for my computer.
I started out on FFIII (well technically FFVI, but it was the SNES version) when I played a little bit of it at a friendâs house. Then I moved on to FFVIII and FFVII and FFIX⌠and the rest is history
I started with FFVIII for PC. At the time I thought the series was linear and I didnât want to start from the beginning just to get the story.
I now remember that I originally rented FF4 back in 92-93. This was before I had even played SoM. I only made it up to Kapio before getting lost in the desert and eventually killed by all the random encounters. I went back again only to get stuck again and since I did not want to die again in the desert I level grinded near the town. After getting tired I had to go to the inn and rest. At this point something different happened while I slept I ended up getting into a fight with some soldiers. That experience taught me probably the most important unspoken rule to playing RPVGs âIf all else fails, go to sleep.â Ever since then I never had any trouble trying to find out where to go to next. Unless of course I had to find some obsuce out-of-the-way passage, or go thru a fetch quest that required a precise step-by-step method for completion.
It was the year after I got my PS1, and when Christmas rolled around I had a choice between FFVII, and Tomb Raider II. I choose the first and was hooked forevermore.
When the FF7 was hype was around, I tried FF4, and was hooked for life! now I own and have played them all, and it is still my favorite series. FF6 being my fave.
My dad bought FFMQ and I played that first, but it was playing FF4 at my friends house that really got it going.
FF4 for the snes when first released. Then FF6 naturally, probably the 2nd best in the series, made me a lifer since.
Yet i will say, anything with Squaresoft on it coming out for the snes was a must buy for me and I think more Squaresoft got me hooked rather than just picking up a Final Fantasy 
I was 6 or 7 years old. One of my childhood friends, who even at that young age was a video game pro and had literally taught himself to read with Nintendo Power magazines, got the famous Nintendo Power strategy guide. He got the game from an older cousin, and thatâs how I was introduced.
