Favorite RPGC memory?

…I mean…I believe you, but I wasn’t really talkin’ about any of those things, lol.

At least in the case of Street Fighter 4, it made perfect sense to outsource to DIMPS. They have not had a team with any experience making fighters in a long time, and if they wanted to make a game with good polish in a reasonable amount of time, it made sense to go with a team like DIMPS. Case in point - they are still making new updates to the game, and it’s still selling. It was a smart move, and it’s definitely paying off.

(Though, for the record, I don’t personally like Street Fighter 4.)

True, but remember that those games mostly consist of X6 and X7 where gimmicky level designs were the least of their issues. Sure X5 had gimmicky stages as well, but it was merely following in X4’s footsteps; either way though, you still had at least a few stages to utilize your power ups in before the Sigma/whatever stages versus the maybe 2 stages of X8 (of course X5’s biggest problem were the Sigma/Zero stages because holy hell were they hot garbage; especially if you main’d Zero only for the RNG to say “No” and left you with an unupgraded X).

I’d gladly take a sequel to Megaman ZX Advent - that was one good metroidvania.

Ha. Wish Ubi would give up on Uplay; I got a couple of Ubi games I don’t touch due to it (though, thankfully, Rayman Origins was unaffected).

uPlay console isn’t as bad, but uPlayPC is a handful to deal with.

Actually both ZX games were rather mediocre Metroidvania games due to the whole ‘lack of upgrades/content to find’. Compared to the Energy Tanks/Missile Expansions/Major Powerups/etc of the Metroid games and the various Metroidvania Castlevanias’ Weapons/Armors/HP, MP & Hearts Expansions/whatever Powerup gimmicks are going on with this game, to the ZX games’ 4 Heart Tanks, 4 Sub Tanks, 4 WE Expansion (in the second game), an extra Biometal (first game requires playing on a DSLite or emulator with GBA compatibility functionality, and the second requires getting all the chievos then starting a new game), 8 or so Upgrade Chips, a bunch of rink-a-dink consumables (which are one-time only in the first game), and an assload of useless data disks (and this doesn’t include Hard Mode’s tendency to remove almost all of these upgrades). Most of your ZX running around time is spent running minor/annoying sidequests for in-game currency and maybe an upgrade.

That’s not to say that the ZX dev team aren’t going off to make their own Megaman clone (with Blackjack and Hookers).

That’s an understatement. It was discovered a few years ago that uPlay was a security risk, installing a browser plugin without warning users that provided a backdoor for malicious websites for at least 21 games. More disturbingly was Ubisoft’s reaction of “Meh, we’ll fix it when we get around to it.” More recently, Watch Dogs is just one example of uPlay being brought to its knees by an influx of traffic it couldn’t handle and rendering games unplayable. It happens almost every time there’s a Steam sale involving Ubisoft games.

I’ve only been there 2 years, but even I have my share of stories of what happens behind the curtain, unfortunatly this being online I’d rather not say more. :X

But if we ever all get together again somehow, you’ll get a few laughs.

Also, I didn’t even know about that IntiCreates game. Instead of ROBUTS it’s about PSYCHIC GUN GUY. At least according to the subtitled trailer here http://www.gamespot.com/videos/azure-striker-gunvolt-announcement-trailer/2300-6417589/

And they say on twitter they want to release in North America mostly at the same time, so…yeah that’s one more thing for my 3DS.

This place was the first online community I really felt welcome at. Granted, I was young and stupid when I first came along, and I did some fairly young and stupid things. >_>

But I met some of my best friends here, and RPGC will always have a warm and fuzzy place in my heart. I love you guys. :kissy:

You did some young and stupid things? You were like one of the least offensive personalities here. There are tons more people here, The 984 included, that did younger and stupider things.

Heh, thanks, I think. honk

Yeah, 984 is right there GG… you were one of the best mannered people on here from what I remember. That’s saying a lot considering the personalities that came through here.

Well, there was that time GG tried to install control chips in the administrators’ brains so he could rule the entire forum.

Unless that’s not public knowledge. In which case of course I was kidding.

Speak for your self. GG Crono is the single most offensive human being I’ve ever met. The single most vile, despicable, loathesome, smelly, crotchrottingest slice of anal garbage this side of the orion nebula.

Pot, meet kettle.

:v

I don’t feel like making g a new thread but I’m in Seattle for the week if anybody wants to hang out.

Careful all you Seattle RPGCers. Sorc will schedule a meeting to hang out THEN NOT SHOW UP.

Technically my “shows up vs. Not shows up” tips in the favor of showing up. I have met two of you, after all. I stalked Maz through an REI to my own amusement!

I’m going to Atlanta next week. But I’m gonna be stuck in some shitty company’s office for like 12 hours a day the whole time.

You should party in Savannah.

984 + sorcerer + zepp

…its gonna be huge.
