That is BRILLIANT! I can’t remember if it was me though. More importantly, did it work?
I used to play WC3 with MegamanX2K periodically, and he developed a seething, frothing hatred for invisible mortar teams. To date I still have no idea why “Timezones!” pissed him off so much, but during one game I moved about 12 mortar teams into his base, let loose, and typed out “TIMEZOOOOOONE COMBAAAAAAT!” He ragequit 30 seconds later after I left his entire base in ruins and most of his night elf archers dead. My Mom came into the room wondering why I was laughing so hard.
Honorable mentions:
-Procrastinating for a year on the Suikoden 3 shrine after it was about 80% done, until finally I handed it off to Rirse, since SATs were taking up too much time.
-World of Warcraft shenanigans on Kil’jaeden server.
-KFC bathroom sex jokes.
-Quina. God, that was hilarious.
-Tricking Crotanks into clicking a .hack link that contained spoilers.
-The political debates, which ranged from insightful to downright moronic.
I could go on and on. The craziness here was unforgettable.
More recently I’ve been finding that Crotanks, at best, is that guy in a zombie apocalypse (in this case Left 4 Dead) who you just use as a sacrifice to momentarily distract the hordes while people who aren’t as shit get onto the escape helicopter. The more things change…
I feel like it was…Cala? Cala came out as a guy I think, and changed accounts.
Weilla’s fanfics were pretty much what first got me into the site, so I suppose those.
I loved SK’s political analysis and would often steal them to use IRL. Sin’s discussions on biology were goddamn amazing to read sometime. I also enjoyed that time I announced that I’d gotten an acting diploma and I guess people thought I was an actor when I really was just some teen about to go do a maths degree. To think I’m now doing a PhD that involves brains (tangentially).
I miss the IRC channel, and I miss that I got involved in the site so late. You guys were really awesome to a younger me. Even the jerks. Maybe even especially the jerks.
I want everyone to think about the underlying implication of this statement: Sinistral has had so many wacky-town, comedy movie-caliber sex memories that he can’t even remember if he has ever stolen a woman’s mom’s prosthetic leg to get it in peace.
Timezones was a Staff thing (although you’re Staff? I forget). There was some debate about something on the Staff Forum, and someone, I think Sin, made a point about timezones. A legitimate point. And X got pissed the fuck off because he’s X. And from there “timezones” became a(nother) way to just make him rage.
I also once honestly wished him a happy birthday on the Staff Forum. Maybe one line wasn’t phrased correctly or something, but he got pissed and seethed. And all I did was try to honestly wish him a happy birthday.
I never wound up actually joining the staff because I didn’t have time to finish the Suikoden 3 shrine, but there was this running gag for a while with a few staffers - I think it was TD and Epic - about me being an honorary staff member.
And yeah, Sin mentioned that timezones started in the staff forum, but I never figured out if there was a reason for it or if it was just X getting pissed off because he was X. The latter I can believe, in hindsight. But non-staffers just noticed how much it made X rage so of course it caught on with the entire forum. I vividly remember Ackbar even changing the topic in #rpgclassics to TIMEZONES! at one point.
I don’t think any staffer except Orakio ever actually made any shrines.
I mostly remember having obnoxiously long arguments with Hades over the most inane bullshit. In a way, those helped me become a more assertive person since I was such a gigantic pussy teenager that online-arguments about FFVIII sucking required me to gather courage to post them, and I could graduate from that to being an obnoxious know-it-all in real life.
Also, I remember once disagreeing with Sin over something and suddenly finding myself banned from everything but the Roleplaying Forum.
One time I had a disagreement with Sin and my name got turned into some reference to ShaheenJim and my avatar got turned into Jigglypuff in between two hamburger buns. …Actually, I wonder if that avatar still exists; it was pretty funny.

Its the hair. The joke bans/changes remind me of the time that I ended up subscribing Xelopheris to the tower of babel and it massively flooded his email because he was sexually harassing Astral.
Also, a little known detail, I was the first Bob. It was when we had 2 servers after migrating to a better server and being stuck for a few months with an old contract. When that server died, Zepp took over, expanded the ROM section and put it somewhere else.

Fucking around in the chat, all day, every day. Dropped that with a quickness once I started having to actually do stuff with my life, but still. Ahh, misspent teenage years… I still get some cunt finding me on ICQ every once in a few months asking me to unban him.
Related, using 9/11 as an excuse to be online all day and mess around in #rpgclassics back when we had dial-up. We got cable shortly after that.
All the hilarious, terrible, but mostly hilarious drama.
Also that time I got turned into a pony. Ever since the MLP craze started up a few years ago people in meatspace have repeated this process, I think horses are my spirit animal at this point.
And of course, playing the vidya with a good chunk of you. D&D: Shadows over Mystara was great when it actually worked and I got to spam every single spell all the fucking time, the FFXI crew was funtimes despite terrible timezone-related problems, Spaz sucking at Quake II, etc.

I went out and did a lot of stuff back when I was a teen…but, I also just had an excess of free time. I didn’t take any AP/CP/Honors courses in high school, and I went straight to community college afterward. So, basically, my course workload was virtually NOTHING. I went to class for three hours a day, and then went home and did basically whatever I wanted (except for the Chemistry class I took, cos I’m terrible at science; I remember having long-ass tutor sessions with Sin on that). I didn’t even have to sleep, otherwise, so it was like having seven days off.
From what I heard it did. I as hoping it was you. Shit.

Haha. It was actually both of them. There was this weird fictional family relations / incest / wincest thread where Cala was Val’s daughter and at the same time grandmother or whatever. They all turned out to be guys. It was… interesting to follow.
