I knda lost track of them over time. If I’m not wrong, isn’t most of Black Isle in Obsidian now? So they are basically still BioWare’s kidney, right?

Ah, you’re absolutely right about about SSF2…Though the truth about CPS-3 is that the first game was Warzard/Red Earth; in fact, that was made specifically to test the full extent of CPS-3 hardware. Also, the second (awful) arcade release of SFAlpha3 (It was called Alpha3 Upper, and it’s the version that all the console releases are based off of) was on Naomi.

Actually, Natsume made Lufia 2; their website says that atleast.[/QUOTE]

Actually, Never-Land company made all of the Lufia’s. Taito published them in Japan, and the first one in America. Natsume published the second and third, and Atlus published the fourth.

Well, I was referring to the first SF game on the CPS-3 board, but… yeah… >_>

Oh…oops… :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll agree that MK2 was probably the funnest one, but there isn’t a single MK game that isn’t outrageously broken. So, it all depends on what stance you wanna take it from. I think it’s really fun to play if you don’t take it so competitively, cos seriously, how the fuck do you beat people like fuckin’ Kung Lao, Jax, Reptile, Scorpion, and Mileena with anyone else? Quite simply…you don’t. :stuck_out_tongue:

Does this mean I wasn’t the champion of Mortal Kombat all that time;)

Mileena was brutal, true.

And didn’t the game balance get messed up AGAIN with Akuma’s air fireball?

Absurd, wasn’t it?

Some are obscure, some aren’t <<

Cave: Makers of the amazing Dodonpachi and ESP series, as well as others like Mushihimesama and Ibara.

G.Rev: Makers of the critically acclaimed Border Down and Under Defeat.

Raizing/Eighting: Battle Garegga and Bakraid ? Sweet !! Mahou Daisakusen triliogy ? Even sweeter =D

Treasure: Neccesary hat tip to the makers of Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga and Gradius V.

Konami: Castlevania and Silent Hill FTW.

Taito: It’s too bad they are no longer developping Arcade games, the mid-80s to mid-90s was when they were at their best. Darius Gaiden and Metal Black were ace.

Red/Hudson: These guys made the popular Far East of Eden series. We’re finally getting one for X360.

Square-Enix: Respect for FF6, Chrono Trigger and FF Tactics.

Irem: Hello R-Type, my aren’t you looking daunting today =O R-Type Final 2 please !! ;_;

Quest: Tactics Ogre : The Knight of Lodis really hit all the right spots for me. Tis a shame we won’t be getting anymore of them ;_;

Triangle Service: Dear T.Fujino, your dedication to port Trizeal for the Dreamcast on your own was quite admirable. I salute you salutes

Milestone: Makers of Chaos Field and Radilgy. Good to know they’re involved in this E3(announced two games for Wii).

Those are the ones that stick out to me the most right now…

Yeah. It’s funny…If you don’t allow Akuma in competitive play, ST is the most balanced 2D fighter, but it’s very easily the LEAST balanced if Akuma were legal. Oh well. He’s a boss character anyways; he was made to be stupidly powerful on purpose.

And you have to go to some hell to select him, particularly in the arcade version. However, before this becomes entirely a Street Fighter thread, I’d like to back up some of DG’s choices… in fact, I’ll just back up all of DG’s choices. Though, technically, Taito and Quest are both just parts of Square-Enix now.

Squaresoft is without a doubt A#1. Squares mastery of the RPG is such that since the interim between FF10 and FF12 while they haven’t been working on a real Final Fantasy game, the RPG genre has completely stultified. The RPG world absolutely needs Final Fantasy to push it forward and set the benchmark.

I really hope they never put us through this again, it’s like I’ve been dead for five years.
