Essay o_o

Has anyone read The Turn of the Screw by Henry James? Would you call the novel “romantic” or “realistic”? I’m leaning toward romantic, however, Miles does die in the end. But at the same time, ghosts aren’t exactly “realistic” unless we want to say the Governess was nuts and they didn’t really exist.

Anyway… any thoughts? I’m comparing this to Brighton Rock (by Graham Greene).

It is a characteristic of romantism to have people diing to add drama to it.

I never read it, but it appears romantic to me.
