What do you think is the better version of DragonBall Z? The anime or manga? I’ve only read some of the manga and I thinks it’s better. But thats probably because all I’ve seen is the shitty dub. The only Japanese version of DBZ that I’ve seen is the 12th movie and it kicks ass! Much better than the dub. Also does anyone know where I can get all of the DBZ manga’s translated into english? And how many are there?

If you’re looking for the “official” translation of the manga, you can find it in graphic novel form in just about any bookstore. I forget how many there are in all, but I think were 14 out last I saw, which was a few months ago, so there are probably 15 or 16 out now.

Dragonball was an EXCELLENT series, but the TV version is inferior, because the fights last unbelievably long. The reason for that was that the manga was being written AT THE SAME TIME AS THE SHOW WAS PRODUCED; therefore, they had to find ways to “stretch” the show while Toriyama drew new stuff. That happens a LOT in Japan. You’d think they would just wait until the artist was done to do the TV version.
Toriyama’s art can go from silly to super-detailed- especially with vehicles- good god, check the details in Bulma’s motorcycle, for example!
Another superior thing in the manga is that it kept all the racy jokes they couldn’t use in the show. 8P
I stopped watching the show a while ago, but I still read the mangas. They manage to avoid many of the mistakes the show made (such as the ridiculously long fights). Unfortunately, many just watch the show, think it sucks, and don’t bother reading the manga (although the first couple have the same atrocious translation as the anime).
