The ocean floor is scary o_o
It really is just amazing, all the incredible things that make up the world… most of which man simply can’t comprehend. What really fascinates me is what lies deep below (like that giant octopus/kraken thing on the picture) Do you reckon that stuff like that could possibly exist?
Absolutely Mind Boggling! Thanks for the post Ren.
btw: Where did you get this from?

obligatory penis joke cause you can’t have an empty post: still less depth than my DICK lol
Thanks for the link Mr America!
This is where they should be dumping our nuclear waste. Not Nevada.
Actually, GBA, I got a similar one in my email. I was too lazy to upload it somewhere so I got the 1st one I found in Google Images
Some scientists have proposed that idea before. The Mariana Trench is located where two tectonic plates meet, and if you put the nuclear waste on the subduction zone, said waste will be pushed into Earth’s mantle. However, there is an ecosystem there which may play a larger role in the ocean’s ability to capture CO2 than we think, so I don’t think it’s worth the risk right now.
Oh, and Helios, that’s not a Kraken. That’s a cosmic entity that will eat all of humankind at sometime in the future. See the Necronomicon for more info on that.
I never really knew that some people actually spent the time to create a book like that… I used to think it was just an idea they used in movies. Interesting indeed!
You give people too much credit. Nobody gives a shit about tomorrows problems.
This is the reason why I think more research should be done regarding the ocean, particularly marine biology. There’s a lot going on there that isn’t apparent upon initial inspection, although to really find it we’d need instruments that can function under those high pressures. There’s some pretty cool stuff in the ocean.
There’s nothing good or interesting down there. Unless you believe in Atlantis.
It’s better than looking for something good or interesting on Mars.
Nah, they already found Atlantis…no, really.
So looking for the origin of life isn’t important? If we discovered life on Mars, that wouldn’t be important?
That’s if you consider Mars to be the origin of all life on Earth, then sure, spend all of your resources trying to get to know Mars. Just don’t come crying to me if Mars gives you the cold, lifeless, surface.
That said, I think we should get to know our own planet better before running off with the nearest celestial body we can find.
You ignorant slut. Do you understand that NASA does space stuff? We have other faggots that do EARTH stuff. C’mon. We have 7 Billion people on earth. I think we can do both. And by the way, they found water on mars. which means that some day we could extract the hydrogen and Mars could be a fueling station for star ships.
It’s what might be under the surface of Mars that is interesting.
In my opinion, they should spend less money, resources and time focusing on Mars and use that to attend to the needs of the people in America. I mean Australia has a problem here, in which most cases where the government simply doesn’t care about problems in the community and what’s more important to them is their international reputation! Not an uncommon problem at all.
NASA’s budget is somewhere around $20 billion at most. That’s barely over half of a percent of the federal budget. Any portion dedicated to a mission to Mars would be even less than that. Then there’s all the advancements in technology that have resulted from space travel.
I think many hollywood movies get more funding than most science research these days.
Regardless of the percentages, just think what $20 billion can do! Even $5 billion could make a large difference to any single cause! But the main point I’m getting at is, we should be focused on trying to solve problems that we have now rather than “where” we will be in a century from now. I’m not saying they’re not doing anything… I’m saying they’re not doing as much as they “can.”
