Defining Moments

All of us face times of change once in a while, and in those times we have to make choices and define our course. How many people here have been through such moments, and how have they affected their lives?

My greatest moments of so-called change are when I meet new people. Perhaps to make somewhat better first appearance than by just acting casually. Other than that, I plan to have a strict “Me, now” lifestyle. Why change if things go as well as they go now? Okay, I could use a little better attentionspan in my last year of Highschool…

But that’s about how you’re used to study, nothing overly self-changing… thingy.

we go through that almost everyday,
every small choice we make could have a huge impact on your entire life

Heheh that is so true… Lets just say, if you choose to leave your house this morning, you might get runned over by a beer-truck or sumthin’… Which could end your life so to speak…

The defining moment in my life was the first time I played Kirby’s Dreamland. It was pretty much the first video game I had played. First video game I’d beaten, too. I still have the ending music memorized …

Pretty much, from that point on it was games, I still want to play Midnight resistance, not to mention Elevator action.

So how were you like before you changed your name to Dalton?

I guess I’d class changing A-Level subjects a defining moment. There are probably a lot more, but I just can’t think of them (or have not yet realised that they are a defining moment).

Going online Auguest 26th, 2002. Never been the same since. Never.

Don’t you try and fool me- this is an essay topic… isn’t it? You’re trying to get us to do your work. :moogle:

What would environmental engineering have to do with this kind of essays, if I may ask?:thud:
No, I was merely curious… and bored.

The day I changed my name unofficially to “Gustave”. Yeah, it’s a guy’s name, but I r0xx0r as Gustave.

Um
I can’t really pinpoint it, but I have changed a lot recently.

I have experienced many changes during my life and I expect to experience many more.

I guess that my new attempt to be more social is somewhat of a change, although I always have been a social person and I am merely returning to the social position where I was a few years ago when I had a lot of friends.

Leaving home will be a major change in the next year or two, when I go to pursue graduate studies, either in eastern Canada or even Europe.

My birth.

Ok, seriously, I’m not the kind of person who has defining moments. I almost don’t believe in such things; you’re personality doesn’t drastically change in the space of a moment. The closest thing I’ve had to a defining moment was my decision to become an Eagle Scout (this was when I was… does some math, can’t figure it out, and guesses 8?), but even so, each and every moment defines a person. Every action they take tells who they are. I can’t choose which breath is my favorite, this is only slightly easier; my choice was only so that I had something to say.

Edit: Ah, missed the how it affected my life part of the question. Using the Eagle Scout decision, here goes: This gave me a set of morals to follow, a path to guide me, a goal to acheive. I have followed this road to a place where nearly everyone I meet respects me, and have little bad to say of me.

Well… There was the time I found out I actually had the strength to punch a jerk right in the nose… And also when I realized I wasn’t as bad as I thought. I managed to pass all my exams, despite my grim predictions.
Other moments I consider important are the ones when I got to know people that changed me and made me better.
Less pleasant ones… well, plenty of them. The worst were the ones when I got cut off from someone meaningful to me.

I suppose the moments when I had to choose the course of my studies were important, but they were just the beginning. Every day I have to make choices, and those choices will affect me in ways that can be rather unexpected.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Oh, how it affected needs to be said too? Uh… let’s just say that I’m pretty damn hungry right now.

Time is constant. Change comes with time, so change is constant. Everyones life is constantly changing, whether it be small changes or large drastic changes. And also, defining moments depends on what you see defining moments as… it could be something that changes your personality, something that effects everyone, or something minor even.
And, well, I don’t really keep track of these things. :stuck_out_tongue:
