Creator of China's largest porn site jailed for life

9 million images and articles. That is A LOT of porn.

My wrist hurts just thinking about it.

Are Chinese men very lonely?

They are. China has got one of the lowest women to men ratios in the world, mostly because they kill or abort most female babies - due to their tradition, in which only male children are legally forced to care for their parents when said babies become adults.

They have even developed some strange habits in the areas where the problem is more extreme, like wife sharing. Because there aren’t enough women for every man to marry in a village, for example, a woman who is already married would give birth to child from a friend or brother of her husband with his consent so that they (the impregnators) can still have kids and carry on their lineages.

I’m not sure what’s more shocking, the sentence or the sheer amount of porn.

There must be a lot of articles and images that are repetitions of other ones, specially if they had stuff in mirror sites, so I’d say the sentence.

Obviously Zepp is in mourning right now.

We await further details on what DT is thinking.

I bet she’s mad that she’s getting one less paycheck

Shit, I was wondering where my boss went.

They’ve arrested Zeppo? ;_;

It is undeniably a crazy sentence, but one must also take into account two factors.

  1. That’s a fuckton of porn. He obviously didn’t make it all and I’m willing to bet he didn’t pay for the rights to use any of it. So basically, he was making money off of millions of illegally obtained pictures and movies.

  2. If he was making any of the porn himself, most likely it was under very unscrupulous circumstances, women being paid a dollar or two (if even being paid at all), etc.

Not trying to be a Chinese government apologist here or anything, but if someone in the US was operating a site with millions of illegally obtained pornographic images and making millions of dollars off of it, he would be taken to the cleaners by our justice system as well. I doubt the punishment would be nearly as harsh and he’d at least get a fair(?) trial though. Pornography is not difficult to obtain in China, you can basically buy it on the street, and the government pretty much tolerates it in small amounts, but the government has a habit of busting the largest operations and handing out ridiculous sentences as a sort of “we are paying attention to this still, don’t forget” kind of message.

If he was making it himself, shouldn’t Pfizer* have gotten him a lawyer?

*the ViagraTM company.

Well, I can still visit that porn site, maybe one of his friends had already moved all the data to another place…

In that site, you can download most of the lately released porn (illegally, sure ) from all of the world (Japan, Korean, France, American… ) for free. I don’t know he’s making money form it or not, but I’m sure he’s arrested for giving people porn, not for illegal copy. Porn itself is illegal in China.

In 1980’s and early 1990’s, many people were executed for some small crime like sexual harrassment, stealing. A young men who once said a dirty joke was killed, and another one who touch the butt of a girl was killed, too. Jailed for life? He’s still alive means the law system is changing in this 10 years, very slowly. You should remember China is still a poor developing country, unadvanced.

There are 30 million more men than women in this country. It seems I’m one of this 30 million extra.

pm me with info thx

Except that the people who live in those rural areas where wife sharing/robbing etc. is actually happening have probably never seen a computer or TV in their entire life. So making porn for them would be kind of useless. There’s plenty of Chinese women in the cities to go for.

In mother soviet China, you don’t get paycheck. Paycheck get YOU. :bowser:

Also, yes, that site is still around. Nothing illegal ever really gets wiped out in China. It just shifts places. If we talk about black market stuffs, that is. <3 As for the ex- owner though: I pity da foo’. :suckah:
