Well, everyone seems to have had their way with her at one point. Why not let microsoft?
You said yourself that Sony and nintendo had CT.
While CT was a great game, CC was just plain horrible. In fact, it defies description on how absolutely horrible CC was. Everyone about that game was just plain dumb; bad plot, too many characters, hour-long battles, stupid magic system, you name it, CC probably screwed up on it.
That said, I still don’t like the idea of companies buying third-party franchises. Then again, XBox DOES need some RPGs (we can’t alienate the good people that were foolish enough to buy an XBox simply because of Halo or Knights of the Old Republic).
Also, another strike towards XBox owners: Knights of the Old Republic is on PC now. They’ve lost yet another coveted title. If Microsoft is REALLY serious about this whole console war, they should stop releasing the good XBox games onto the PC, and just keep them on one system.
MS gets paid either way. You get an X-box and a game or a PC with Windows.
You lose either way.

I don’t see the big problem with Microsoft. They’re just doing everything in their power, legally now, to get money.
Oh wait, that’s considered evil. They have something that a lot of people use because they don’t know how to use Linux, and cannot be arsed to get linux or one of the other alternatives.

So? Lots of Xbox games are on PC. Big deal.
There are those who prefer console gaming to PC gaming, like me.

I don’t care if they make an X-Box port of a CT game, but making it exclusive is a bad idea. They’ll be alienating a lot of their own fans who only have PS2s and/or Gamecubes if only to keep getting Squarenix’s games. It might be good for the X-Box, but I don’t think it’s a smart move for Squarenix.
The first CT game was on the SNES, but by then Square had already released a metric forkton of RPGs for the SNES. Same deal for CC and the PSX. Square’s fans already had those systems and were looking forward to their games. But making a CT game exclusive to X-Box? Sure there might be a few rich Squarenix fans who can afford every console out there, but they’ll essentially giving the majority of their fans a huge slap in the face for doing that.
Syberia was released on PC ages ago, and I’m pretty sure there are more games among those that have.
The reason I don’t want M$ to have Chrono Trigger is plain and simple. It’s Microsoft! It seems to be their normal means of business to either run a monopoly or buy out as many possible business opponents as possible. M$ could only get the Chrono series by buying it, Squareenix would probably much rather put it on a console, such as the PS2, that is more likely to make money off it.

Not when it comes to gaming. You don’t see Nintendo running around trying to buy oh…for example…Rare. You also don’t see Sony trying to run a monopoly on the gaming industry, sure they want to rule it but they aren’t attempting to make a monopoly of it.

That would be a dissapointed, but then again I thought Chrono Cross was a dissapointment.
