Chrono Trigger DS Various Questions

Hiya folks, I’m new to this forum. I joined up to discuss various games, and today, I have a couple of questions about Chrono Trigger.

  1. In 12,000 BC, after Zeal falls crashing to the ground and only a couple of islands survive, there is a Nu in the village who sells various stuff. Behind that Nu is a shimmering thing on the ground that’s probably a Power Tab or something. But the Nu won’t move. What gives? I’ve killed Lavos at least once, but he still won’t move.

  2. In 600 AD or 1000 AD, I cannot remember, there is one house in one village with a shimmering light in the dresser beside the bed, but it’s locked. How do I unlock that dresser to get what’s in it?

  3. In the new dungeon added (before you kill Lavos) in 65,000,000 BC, you can climb the mountain and fight the Nu… well you can steal a Mop from him which is a really weak weapon for Crono. What’s the point of that? Does it have another use?

Thanks in advance.

:no2:

  1. I think he might just randomly leave the room if you wait there long enough.

  2. That may be the one where you need to exchange the “Naga-ette Bromide.” I don’t know what it’s called in the remake, but it’s an item that you find in a shelf in one of the side rooms of the Cathedral in 600 AD.

  3. I don’t think the Mop has any use, it’s just there for fun.

It’s still a bromide. :sunglasses:
You can actually steal the Mop from any Nu at all, including the ones you fight in Kajar (or was it Enhasa?) and the one in 65,000,000 BC in the training grounds.

Isn’t the mop the weapon that slaps Confuse on Nus if you hit em with it?

For question 1, just enter the hut and wait until the Nu leaves. Don’t talk to it, though, or it won’t move and you’ll have to leave and re-enter. I kept forgetting not to talk to it…

Hey fellows, what’s this Chrono Trigger thing you’re talking about? Some kind of superweapon? Do we have to join the NATO to get access to it? (Do I hate S-E…)

Thanks for the responses guys. I didn’t even think of not talking to the Nu before he leaves the room. If I still can’t get that one dresser open, I’ll take a pic and upload it to this thread.

You shouldn’t have any problems. When you get the Nagaette-Bromide (which is located in the first room on the left side of the main chamber in the Cathedral in 600) talk to the old man in the house with the shining thing. He’ll ask you to trade the bromide for something valuable; accept and he will unlock the drawer, which gives you some kind of tab or an ether or something. We’re all pretty awesome at this game so if you have any more questions bring em on!

PS I believe the Mop is some kind of gag item in Squaresoft games. I can recall finding one in at least 4 games - Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy IX.

There’s no Mop in either Chrono Cross or FF9. You must be thinking of something else.

Steiner doesn’t have a mop weapon? Or was it a broom?

Yeah, I thought steiner had a goof weapon. And I think I confused that sack of straw character with a weapon (from Chrono Cross)

Nope, no goof weapon in FF9. The closest is the Aloha equipment.
