Christmas Music

I start my Christmas shenanigans early because it’s the only holiday I give a damn about.

So, what are everyone’s favorite albums for the holidays?

Mine:

Harry Connick Jr’s ‘When My Heart Finds Christmas’
A Very Special Christmas 1, 2, and 3
Aaron Neville’s Soulfull Christmas
Burl Ives’ “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”
Anything by Bing Motherfucking Crosby
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Duke Ellington’s take on the ‘Nutcracker Suite’

You honestly like listening to Christmas music? Seriously?! There are people that do this to themselves?!

Oh yes there are, Sin. I myself always made a collection of Christmas music to play during The Holidays. Won’t do it anymore since I stopped illegally downloading songs after the big bug that nearly ruined my computer, but I will still hunt them down in Youtube.

Note that I do not limit myself just to sappy Christmas songs, I also listen to stuff like Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. :hahaha;

Now, my favorites? That’s hard to tell, since I listen to nearly all kinds of styles… if pushed, I’d choose The Nutcracker Suite, I guess.

Edit: oh look, my [STRIKE]love interest[/STRIKE] favorite singer Enya has a Christmas Album! Youtube rules!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D__kV5CrU4k&playnext=1&list=PL808053DC0061048D&index=26

you’re not very good at the internet

Vince Guaraldi is the only Christmas music I can listen to outside of December without smashing a sound system in a psychopathic rage. It’s not that I don’t like Christmas, don’t get me wrong…I just don’t like two and a half months of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem I have with Xmas music is that there’s only like 20 different songs played by radio stations, and most of them are either crap like ‘Santa Baby’ and the aforementioned ‘Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer’ or useless covers of ‘Jinglebells’ by modern day pop stars.

Of course, to make a bad situation worse, almost every local radio station plays these same tunes non-stop til New Years. It’s maddening.

Baby It’s Cold Outside is about a rapist.

Santa is basically a rapist; he jams himself down your chimney pipe, blows a load of presents, then leaves as quickly as he entered.

You guys sure have a way with words! :hahaha;

I for one like listening to Christmas as well! Here we have an annual carols by candle light which is very nice to watch and listen to. However I do agree that listening to them 24/7 for 2 and 1/2 months can be devastating on a person’s state of mind and overall well being! xD

Oh! So that’s why he’s so red and huge.

I like the Edge of Christmas as well as Dr. Demento’s Christmas and Nat King Cole. I attempt to wait until after Thanksgiving to listen to Christmas music because most people within earshot don’t appreciate me playing all sorts of songs for two months straight.

Red Neck Style Christmas Music

Killmore, swollen is the term I’d use. He’s just bulging out.

I think this is the most maddening christmas song out there.

I’m going to put this on repeat on my mp3 player at work and refuse to change it all day to witness what happens.

I’m royally pissed because my favortie radio station deciced to go 100% Christmas music this week. At least wait until after Thanksgiving damn it!

That being said I like anything from the Transyberian Orchestra or Anheim Stemaroller. I also have to play Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer at least once because I get a kick out of it for some reason.

Christmas puts the laughter in manslaughter. :D
And yeah, I forgot about Trans-Siberian Orchestra, they rock pretty hard.

I try to ignore Christmas Music or block it out. Used to have to listen to it on repeat during 12 hour shifts while working at my first job. Drives a man to madness.

Are you suggesting that Santa isn’t huge?

Swollen I find hard to swallow. But he’s definitely bulging out of that suit like the lumpy, salty, juicy, Christmas Ham that he is.

Too bad he isn’t Jewish.

Speaking of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, remember this from a few years ago? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmgf60CI_ks&feature=related

I still think it’s awesome. Sure there have been many imitations, but I like this one best.

I enjoy Christmas songs, but perhaps that’s cos I play music. The gospel music played at Christmas is particularly well-written and fun to perform, and you only get to to perform it a few times a year.
