This involves a stick. my battery ( i hope ) died on me. my jumpercables are in my parents car which is not at home, and i have to get to the bank in a half hr before it closes.
doesany one know how to push start a stick properly with a dead battery?
try adding some deionized water to your battery, its possible that that is part of the problem and may temporarily fix your problem. I don’t know how to kick start a car without a battery, since from what I know, you need a spark to get the engine going.
Alright, hope you have a good length of road sloping at least not against you.
Get a friend or two to start pushing, while you sit in the car.
You should have the break off, the stick in first gear, and the clutch depressed.
Turn the key to the on position.
Have the friends push you until you are going a decent speed (for a push that is), then release the clutch.
The car should jerk a bit and the engine engage.
Once the engine engages, push the clutch in again.
Hopefully the car is running now, you can drive normally, but be sure not to turn it off unless vitaly necessary.
If friends aren’t available to help, you will have to leave the stick in neutral while you push.
Then jump in and put the car in gear and release the clutch for a second like you did above.
This version is much harder.

Just go with Delita’s advice, I did that with my dad’s car a hundred times and it never failed.
