Was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I try to connect to Battle.net in Brood War, and it gives me the ‘Connecting to fastest server’ message. Then it just… doesn’t do anything else. If I try and Alt-Tab or click ‘Cancel’ is becomes unresponsive and I have to shut it down. I already turned off my Windows Firewall and configured my virus scanner, so it’s not a problem with those. Any ideas?
B.net’s been down a lot lately. I haven’t been able to connect, but I don’t know if that’s your problem or not. Try waiting for 10 minutes or so.
I’m sure whether I’m connecting. It SAYS it is, then freezes.
Have you tried reinstalling?
Yep. It connects maybe once or twice, and then goes back to ‘Connecting To fast Server -> Crash’ before it does. It does this on both my laptop and the other PC, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a problem with the system.
Hell, for all I know the disc is scratched or something. It’s the first ever PC game I bought, so it’s like 7 years old now.
Try installing the newest patch manually from the blizzard website.
Also, make sure all your drivers are up to date.
